Looks like the wait is almost over! Nice color choices. What exactly did your body guy do under the hood? Looks very finished. Also, what does potatoe mean? I know it has something to do with carburated but it has got me stumped.

Under the hood, he just did the normal body work and sprayed. Potatoes = Carbs = Carburator. Right now, I am replacing the transmission, have to put the trans tunnel carpet in, and do a final mount of the seats and seat belts. I have my quick jacks going out to a chrome shop. I may need to relocate the brake lines, and then it is off for inspection.

Color combo is my favorite and is exactly what is on my B & B. I need to upload pictures. What are the colors that you went with? Zinc yellow & ebony black. 2000 Dupont paints.
Hope you make to the Fling... it will look like twins.

Jeff,
I know you are on a budget for tools, etc., but if you like the floor, I will say my only regret with it is waiting until the car was out at the paint shop to do it. It really helps with rolling around on a creeper and keeps the dust down. My wife and I spent a lot of time doing the checks. While I love the look, I do think I would be just as happy with the grey with fleks in it.

BTW, the yellow is Zinc Yellow, I do not know about the black, so they will be twins. I had a tough time deviding between blue and yellow, and now that I have the car, I am glad I did it.

Tom, it's not too late to take off the body and do what J.A. did. If I remember right, J.A.K. wanted his frame shot with POR-15 (ol yeller color). Or am I dreaming again.

Floor
I have the epoxy floor with the paint chips. After three years it started wearing at the tires and now at five years it has to be redone this spring. It did look great and cleaned up very easily for 3 years though. How did you do the floor and what did you use?

Sorry Ron my frame is black. Must be some other guy. Tom did you get a top with it or are you topless Brian offered my the hardtop at the same price as a soft thought about it for 2 seconds. As quite a distinct look with the strips going down the middle. Any chance you'll be in london,OH for the Fling?

Jeff,
The floor is U-Coat it. Two coats of white, tape it off with double lines of tape, cutting out the inside line for the black squares, 2 coats of black and then a clear over the top of it. What you cannot see in the pictures is the feathering at the edges.
JA, I am topless. Many conflicts are trying to stand in the way of the Fling, but I intend to be there. My brother in-law is getting married, but we doubt we will be invited to the wedding. Someone else is getting married, that weekend. It may just be me, my son and the Cobra, we will see. I have reservations, I am looking for a trailer for our Durango to pull, and I plan on being there.
Slow Dawg, there is no way that body is comming off now. I have the body glassed to the inner panels, and there is no way I am cutting that out and then going near the paint job with fiberglass gel after it has been painted. You guys should look at the mods that Carlo did to his frame. If I had it to do again, I would have the seat pan welded in like he did, and the tabs for the lap belts in the recommended orientation like he has.

Tom, if you're talking about Carlo Micelli, that is our standard frame. He got one of the first of the new design.
J.A., sorry about that. Been with the guys for well over six years and it seems like all these cars all blend together. That's why I go out and work in the weld/fab. shop to clear my head.

Carlo has a B&B. There is a reference to his build site on the B&B Manufacturers forum on this board. The old B&B floors used 1/4" x 2" "legs" that the seats would sit on inside of the floor pan. The lap belts would bolt to these legs where they made an upturn at the rear cowl. The new design has a solid raised floor pan that replaces the legs. Also, there are ears welded to the outboard frame rail, and an excentsion to the inboard frame rail (tranny tunnel) where the lap harnesses can bolt to. This puts the lap belts into the alignment and positioning recommended by Simpson Racing Products.
