Hey Windy City Power tour coming in June

Yep the power tour is coming through Chicago!!!

WE should check it out!

It's going to St Louis, then Davenport, Chicago (Arlington Hts),
then on to Greenbay Wisconsin!

Marty (the Red) and I have been talking about hooking up with them somewhere before Chicago?

Anybody else thinking of going?

Do you know the dates when they would be coming through Chicago? Assuming I have a car - this sounds like good idea.

4.) St. Louis to Davenport 266 miles / 1.25 hours
5.) Davenport to Chicago 177 miles / 3 hours
6.) Chicago to Greenbay 210 miles / 3.5 hours

If we were to tag along with the tour for a portion, do we need to pay a registration fee? It looks like it is something like $55.00 for the registration fee, so it is not bad. Just wondering if you need to pay that if you are not driving the whole thing.

How do Cobras fit in with this theme? Are we welcome? Is this mostly '57 Chebbies and 3 window coupes or are there a bunch of tuners or what? I'd hate to show up and have 'em go, "Wazzat? Oh, a Cobra? Well, uh, why don't you go park over there."

If we really are welcome, I think it would be a lot of fun to join up with the tour in Davenport and drive to Arlington Park. Looks like they're going east on I88 to I39, then up to Rockford and back east again-within about 8 miles of my house. Yeah, I'm interested, schedule permitting.

On the web site www.hotrod.com you will find about half way down the page a box for HOT ROD POWER TOUR. Click on it, and, on that sub site is all sorts of information.There is apart on there called "power tour forum", Click on it and you will be suprised at all the questions that are being asked and all the answers that are being given. I'm still going through it, as I also have a ton of questions, that are being answered as I read the forum

Hey Lowell.

It's a bunch of gearheads and hot rodders,
the only requirement i know of is you have to have a car.

They don't much care what kind. (of car)
As long as you think it's cool.
Pretty much its the run what you brung thing.
I figure if you'd take your car to a cruise night why not?

You'll see it all chevs, lead sleds, hot rods, mod rods, street cruisers, pro street, but I don't think you're gonna see to many
ricers ( if any).
The whole thing is designed to ge people to DRIVE their cars!
and show them off!

Sounds like a lot of fun to me. I'm in.

Sorry, I never saw your post of March 1. Heck yeah, I've got a car and I wanna go, so I took the week off! I figure I'll maybe drive over to Davenport, check out the cars and get in line, then meet up with you guys at Arlington Park. Or, if I'm feeling lazy, I'll just join up on the highway. Either way, I'll be looking for you guys in Arlington Heights!

I just found out that my coworker's father-in-law (try to follow me) is having a Boyd Coddington roadster revealed at the Davenport stop of the Power Tour. Pretty cool huh? I guess they're gonna do an episode on it on "RIDES".
