Default Recomendation for a painter needed

Hi guys,

As I had mentioned at the February WCCC meeting held at John Spinas's place of business, I am selling my cobra to make room for the next cobra I have ordered. I have a few paint chips on the rear fenders and some other minor areas to be repainted. I also need a door to be shimmed/adjusted slightly to avoid the rubbing which has caused the paint to wear off on the inside door jam.

I am looking for a recomendation of a painter who you think will do a good job. I know I could just look in the yellow pages for a body shop, however I would rather give the business to someone that has performed well before. I live up in Hawthorn woods so needless to say I would prefer to stay some where in the northern suburbs.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Mark

Default Prep and Painting

Mark,

I was also at the meeting (I think we talked) in Feb and am starting my build in June. A couple of folks mentioned some painters but I didn't write down the names. I thought I would add to your thread to get some more replies.

I am looking for body prep and painting in the Chicao area - north side - Wisconsin would be an option if south of Milwaukee. One rough quote from Greg's Auto Body in Lake Bluff so far but I think it would be more of a show car job (along with the price). Pretty sure my budget can (or shouldn't) put that much money into the paint job that would get chipped up.

Looking for any feedback on experience with prep and painting shop along with rough prices.

Dave

Thumbs up

There a place on Rt. 134 in Round Lake Park near police station that does great work, one or two hotrods a week there.Looks like great work and my brother-in-law just got a quote and he reasonable. There is also Lonnies in Huntley really popular with the hot rod crowd, great work, show quality much pricier.
