Arcenio,
I'm planning to head south to I74, then pick up I70 in Indianapolis, which will save me some driving and avoid that stretch of I80/94 which is a mess even when all lanes are open. Maybe I'll see you guys along the way; if not we'll meet up at the hotels. I'll be at the Fairfield.
I tried the Rt 30 to Merrillville route several years ago on the way to the east coast. I don't think it saved us any time but at least we were moving more of the time than we'd have been on the interstate. A lot of it's slow and crowded and it goes through some crappy areas. I wouldn't want to do it towing a trailer and I doubt I'd do it again either way. There's just no good way around Chicago, unless you want to backtrack about 30 miles and take I57 down to I74.
See ya next week.

Arcenio-
Why am I not on the list?! Erik yes yes. By the way, some people should take the Skyway to 65. Probably would save some headaches.

Hi everyone,
Sorry but I can’t make the WCCC DVSF club outing but I have previously scheduled an out of town trip next week. I wish you a safe trip, without any mechanical breakdowns and dry weather. Take lots of pictures and have fun!!. I’ll see everyone in July.

Hey, Sid,
Why don't you borrow Frank's car?
Arcenio: I've got the little black book you gave me with your phone # in my car. If I'm in Indy around noon I'll call and see where you guys are.
Marty: Are you and I the only ones without trailers?

I will be driving with my wife in our family car, not the Cobra!
I say this only to offer up the excess trunk space. I guess I should say on a first come first serve basis we would be more than willing to transport excess luggage or helmets or whatever does not quite fit. If you make it to Merriville, we'll take it from there.

OK, looks like rain MAY be in the forecast. I am on an open trailer and do not have the tonnaue on yet. Any tips for keeping the inside somewhat dry?

Remember a car cover will seriously damage the paint flapping in the wind on a trailer. Perhaps taping down your tonnaue cover - I have seen a beach ball inflated under the cover to keep it tensioned. I'm not sure what tape would be best - but I do have a preference for the multi-colored striped beach ball.

What rain?
That is all the evil weathermans plot to try to side track us.
There is a cure, drive faster.
Seriously, when Bob Sutton and I trilered back the Jenny car last year we went thruogh horrific downpours. As a matter of fact it rained from Dayton all the way back to Chicago.
At times we could not see the front of the truck.
The interior did get wet but not any measureable amount on the floor.
The good news is that Fri, Sat, & Sun look like perfect weather.
Keep your fingers crossed we miis the rain and it passes over us and out Wed night!

red: what's up with the skyway?
I've been out of touch for the last couple months (bought a new house) but life is finally starting to get back to normal. I'm going to try and make it to the fling if I can get my car put back together in time. Fixing a slight oil leak in the head / intake area, and I have a small leak at the top of my oil pan. Looking for gaskets as we speak!
Hope to see everyone there!
