Hello - new cobra owner in Chicago
Hi, everyone.
I recently purchased SPF #069 from my friend and like to introduce myself to Windy City Cobra Club members. My name is Seiji Daito [sage ditoe] and I am in Lincoln Park area. I met Blas at SCOF and he was kind enough to lead me here.
It is an old one from '96 and I bought without a motor. Another friend of mine and I installed Ford Racing 351 crate motor and the car just got registered in IL. It is a work in progress (brake issues, suspension improvements, general sorting-out, etc., etc.) and I am hoping to learn from all of you.
Hope to meet members in person soon.
Thank you.

Seiji...
Well I see you found us hiding in the suburbs........
Photo looks great...any stripe?
As you know the weather has been troublesome lately...
But hopefully SOMEONE will put together a "Snake & Eggs" for this Saturday a 8:30....somewhere.... (like Mr, v's in DesPlaines) and maybe you can get the car out for some shakedown driving..... What problems are you having?

Blas -
No, I don't have a stripe. I would love to meet you guys at Snake and Eggs, weather permitting. Last Sunday was a close call: I was in Indiana and was not sure if I could come back if stormed.

Seiji,
Welcome.
Actually, there are other believers within the city limits. I too am in the Lincoln Park area, (Halsted & Armitage).
Last Friday I saw a Black Cobra with a Chrome roll bar and temporary plates on Armitage. It was a quick sighting from the rear so I did not get to see what type of car it was, but, maybe there is another in the neighborhood.
Send me an e-mail; if you are out crusing stop by - I would like to see your car.

Seiji,
Who owned 069 before you?
Was he the original owner?
Do you know who was?

Seiji,
I believe I just saw you & your car on the street. At Elston & North about 6:00 this evening. You were a bit too far away & going in the other direction so I did not get a real good look - but what I saw looked very nice.
Hope to see Saturday at the Steak & eggs.

Hi, Guys.
Blas - Yes, I bought the car from the original owner, Pat Eckes of Grass Lake, Michigan. He purchased new in 1996. Pat now owns Viper and early fibreglass 308 GTB (it is for sale, not a dry sump version though), among other things.
Rich - If there was no stripe, probably me... I just received repaired speedometer from Nisonger, so was out testing. I am at Diversey and Southport (near Hostess outlet) - we should meet. I will email you.
Arcenio, Neil - Looking forward to meeting you both.
