EMAIL FROM GARY that I got...
Chuck here is the email I got from Gary on the 7th.
Guys,
We're all set to go! Just need a little help from Mother Nature. Rightnow, almost every weather person is calling for a warm day at least (87-90)with a chance of Thunder Showers. Right now that chance is about 40% and islikely later in the day/evening. I'm hopeful the heat won't bother most of us or our vehicles. We'll be on the road for thirty minutes in the morning
after we leave Long Grove, probably an hour and a half around mid-day as we go up to Wisconsin and another forty five minutes on our return around two o'clock. So all total, about two and a half hours of actual driving time plus your trip to and from Long Grove. The showers should be scattered
instead of a steady rain so we may run into them, we may not. At least we can see them coming and take cover if need be.
Here are some specifics to get us started:
* 17 members signed up to participate
* 15 cars scheduled to run (couple co-pilot seats open)
* 29 total people signed up to attend
* At least 10 spouces/girlfriends attending
* Start Time: 9:30am
* Start Location: Kildeer Countryside School Parking Lot
Address: 3100 Old McHenry Rd.
Long Grove, Illinois 60047
* Cost of $55 includes member and a guest (Please bring cash) Money covers all event participation, admission fees and Poker Pot donation
* Arrive with full tank of fuel
* Poker Run will end at my house in Kildeer about 4:00pm (Prizes to be awarded and a Great American Cookout will follow)
* My home phone number 847-726-2251
* My cell phone number 847-226-3007
* Complete maps and further details about the day will be given out at
9:30am
* Necessities for the day. Closed toe shoes for Club members
participating in events, rain gear, cell phones, sunscreen, hats,
sunglasses, etc.
Please be sure to check your emails on Saturday for any additional
changes in status. If I feel we should cancel once again due to the
weather, I need to make that call by Friday afternoon and I will email
everyone probably Friday night. If we go, I really need for everyone to try
and show up as my deposit money will be on the table so to speak. Knowing
what we know today, if you are iffy about attending with the current
forecast please let me know asap. Right now I'm hell bent on holding this
event Sunday but my emotions and frustration may cloud my judgment so if you
don't think you'll attend with the current forecast, please advise. If
enough people are concerned, we'll postpone it once again!
Hope to see you all on Sunday!

Wow...
Let me say that no club - no where - could have had more fun than we did today.

This was the second most fun thing I've ever done in a car!!!!!!

Gary-
Thanks for a GREAT time today! It had to be karma on our side because cancelling previously led to an awesome day today. That route we took was outstanding. We really got to test the cars a little. I think we might get a unanimous vote on having our christmas party at the go-kart track. I know I'm addicted. Thanks again to you and your family and hope to see everyone soon.

PS- I will be announcing a get together at my house soon...just working out details with Jen.
