Music for WCCC Summer Picnic?
Well, those of you who know me know that I am always looking for excuses to buy new tools or toys. Well, this past weekend was our block party, and the planning committee (primarily my wife) decided that we did not have enough money for a DJ and did not want to ask for too much from the neighborhood on such short notice, so we opted to put our usual budget towards food, kids games and a Jump Around for the kids. So, I figured what is a block party without music, and with my desire to buy toys, purchased a set of DJ speakers from Circuit City. Granted these do not compete with the professional equipment, but with the 100 watt Amp I had laying in the basement and a CD changer, they do sound pretty good. I put together a mix of party music that we just let play all night. Decent mix of popular DJ requests along with some new music and a little country. I was thinking that if Fred's neighbors would not object too much, we could modify the play list a little, adding suggestions in and do another set of party cd's for the picnic. Now, this would of course count on a) my wife going and taking the Durango or b) Daryl Seal going and stopping by my place to pick up the speakers and amp and c) getting a concensus on the play list.
Any thoughts?
