Snake & Eggs XI
The weather looks good for Saturday morning...
Time to nurture the LDL and HDL levels in our blood again...
SNAKE & EGGS XI is just the ticket...
The meeting place will be Cracker Barrel near I90 and Rt. 31 in Elgin.where we had an earlier breakfast this year and then a short cruise to the old MEADOWDALE RACEWAY WOODS where the picnic was originally suggested to be held at....and look around...
Let's say 8AM breakfast....
Post if your coming....
We'll pick a local meeting point for the drive out....Friday...

I am in.
Let me know where y'all are meeting - Assuming it's on the way I'll be there. If not, I will be at the Cracker Barrel

Rich,
Be carefull, it might be a ploy to draw you to yet another Cracker Barrell by yourself! You boys have fun. I am going to get some work done this weekend so that I can visit friends next weekend and not feel guilty going to the track on the 19th.

So let me understand this - you will either be in Chicago, Las Vegas or Flordia; depending on the weather?
Wow! - I am impressed.
However, remember - you still owe me a beer.

Shoot I thought you forgot! LOL! My parents were going to leave today but changed their minds. They cancelled the room too! I had an appointment to go to E-M for a visit on Sunday. I will probably have to cancel that.
So looks like there is a good chance I'll be at the S&E 11 with you guys. Anybody got an open seat?
Sid

Blas,
I can't pass up a Snake & Eggs followed by a "road trip" to Meadowdale Raceway Woods. Table for two please.

Ok...The meeting place will be the Menards parking lot on Higgins and Barrington Road next to Buona Beef. We roll out of the parking lot at 7:20 sharp...Route will be Higgins (72) to route 31 then left towards Tollway and Cracker Barrel....estimate 7:40 am at intersection of 72 & 31...all hell(o) breakes loose from there...
Maybe 9:30am we set out for Meadowdale Raceway Woods.
History:
Meadowdale, near Chicago, was a major road course built in 1958. The hilly 3.27 mile course featured The Monza Wall, a steeply banked 180 degree turn that led to a 4,000 foot main straight. USAC, USRRC, TransAm, ARCA, AMA and club races were run there. It closed in 1969”. The property remains intact, not taken over by sub dividers or shopping center developers. A portion of the property is now a nature preserve called Raceway Woods. The park provides a gateway to hike the old race course.
Directions:
Visiting Meadowdale International Raceway (MIR)
The public gateway to Meadowdale Raceway is now about a half mile north of the old main gate. The Raceway Woods nature preserve entrance is located on IL Hwy 31, about 4 miles north of the I-90 tollway, about 1.75 miles north of IL Hwy 72. The entrance is on the west side of the highway. Watch for it…It sneaks up on you”. There is parking for about 20 cars, a shelter and picnic table and a modular restroom. Trails at the back of the picnic area lead to the track.
And by the way, Ross Fosbender, a historian and host of "THE" web page on Meadowdale Raceway ( http://www.meadowdaleraceway.homestead.com/) will be joining us at the track, and will give us a guided tour.

I'd come but I will be at another show then. Local mustang club is having a 3 day event at the state park not to far from home. I've been told that next friday if you get there early then they are going to be taking some laps on the Kentucky motor speedway (track design by DW himself boogied, boogied) Wonder if we get to go 3/4 throttle Hope you guys have a great time and the weather cooperates.
Chris: Are you going to let Sid drive part of the way or make him suffer

I cut Sid and my Dad off on driving my car. It's time for them to let the moth's out of their wallets.

Hey GoCats,
We have not met, but I have heard terrible things about you from the WCCC group from DVSF4, so you'll fit right in here....
If we (WCCC) put together some kind of event next July or August up here with the date corrosponding to the Road America Vintage Races would people down there be interested in a 3 day road trip up here? Kick it around...Blas

Gocats,
I’ve also heard about your wild and crazy antics during DVSF4 from several attending WCCC members; you definitely sound like my kind of people! WTF (That’s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Illinois speak.) Lets schedule an outing and meeting next year

Blas,
Can't make it this time around (doesn't mean I won't like to be there). Hope to see a S&E 12, 13, etc. still this year. Enjoy the day.
