WCCC Special Announcement
WCCC Special Announcement
The Volo Auto Museum Shelby Show – With Guest Appearance of Carroll Shelby - May 28, 2005.
The potential car turnout for the event is huge. (as this event is open to all makes and models of Shelby cars) and because the WCCC has been a supporter of Volo Auto Museum, they have saved us 50 spots of the 200 spots available. A general event announcement will be made at the World of Wheels next weekend and spots are expected to fill quickly.
There will be a special $30.00 registration fee to display at this event – with 100% of the proceeds going to the Carroll Shelby Children’s Heart Fund.
Car registration allows for entrance of two people – But remember, most WCCC members have free Volo family passes from last years Shelby show for their remaining family members.
All car owners displaying will also receive a commemorative dash plaque.
The event will run from 10am to 5pm
Be sure to mention the “Windy City Cobra Club” for proper grouping of our club together.
You must call The Volo Auto Museum 815-385-3644 to register your Shelby Automobile NOW.
Did I mention the beer garden?
This could be a big event for identifying and recruiting new members for the WCCC, so we need to be there in force….banners, tee-shirts and club stickers in place……..
Please register today and afterwards email WindyCityCobraClub@comcast.net with the subject line “Volo Show” and let us know who is coming. I see a Snake&Eggs and a large rumbling caravan to the show.

Pay Up Front?
Pretty neat trick Volo has going on here. They get to use everyone's money for at least four months. Pay now to reserve your spot and hope it doesn't rain/snow and Shelby doesn't cancel. Kiss that $30 good-bye. If Shelby doesn't show, where is the registration fee/contribution going? Even though it's against my principles..........
I'M IN!!!!!!
Just hope we have our typical nice Chicago Memorial Day weather! High's in the 40's with wind and rain! Should be a lot of fun!

Blas- not to sound like a broken record- but can non-owners tag along?
Also, in case anyone doesn't know-my birthday is Saturday-I think it would be a nice gesture if all the present member/owners would get together and get me a nice, thoughtful gift, and surprise me by parking it in my driveway Saturday. (no Blas, I don't want a fully restored Yugo)
Now that Sid is only months away from getting his Cobra-I think
I'm the only one left without (would sidepipes on my Explorer be too tacky??)
-Bob
P.S. When the time comes(Sat.)-call me and I'll give you directions to my house for my "surprise" gift to be delivered-I'll try to act surprised

Bob,
You know your always welcome....
No need to have a car to attend anything WCCC....
But is does help to have a car for....let's say...Byron drag racing...
Your 1/4 mile jogging time would be excessive.....
Of coures Sid will be pushing his car there....
Or pulling his engine in a red wagon.....

Still no BDR number yet. So does anybody have a red wagon I can borrow?
I would like to thank Rich S and Wolf for all their help yesterday to get my motor from the shipping company.
Bob-How do you think I have perfect attendance to most of the events? Yeah its is kinda like torture but its so fun to hang out with these guys and get made fun of. If it wasn't for all the nagging by Wolf, Chris, Shelby and of course Blas I probably would have waited longer. Just come and hang out. You can take over the "Sid Seat". It is a great thing that you are paying for you kids education! My dad did it for all 3 kids. He got a New Cadillac out of the deal....Any light bulbs go off yet?
Sid

Sid- if you are saying that by putting my kids through college, they're going to reciprocate by buying me a Cobra after they find well-paying jobs---frankly, I'm not going to hold my breath.
Right now, I'm working as much O/T as possible, and side jobs to recover expenses for my truck's front- end rebuild job ($1200.00+) that was set aside for the donor car.
Donations to my donor car fund can be sent in lieu of Birthday Gifts($$$)---just kidding guys---don't mean to sound like a greedy whiner!
Going to Cobra-related events is one of the highlights of my spare time---but it won't match the feeling I will get when the truck delivers my kit from FFR one day---YESSSS!!!!

I registered over the phone for Michelle and I. I have not received any tickets or confirmation in the mail yet.
Also, I reserved a room at the Hampton for DVSF.
P.S. We had a great time at Flannigan's Wake and the holiday party... great to see everyone! Looking forward to the thaw.

I signed up today. From what the lady was telling me, the show is going to limit the number of "replicas" that can be on display. If you haven't signed up yet I would do so very soon!
