Talking WCCC Celebrity Member

Hey WCCC members we have a celebrity among us!

Let me explain…I was scanning the pages of my March Kit Car Magazine issue today and abruptly stopped at page 30 because the pictured Everett-Morrison yellow cobra looked very familiar. I was correct. The car, the article and owner is WCCC’s very own Scott Johnson!! (I easily remembered this car since I first laid my cobra lusting on eyes on it several years ago parked in my sister-in-law’s driveway. Yeah, that’s right, my sister-in-law is Scott’s neighbor. Small world huh?) I hadn’t purchased my Cobra yet so I introduced myself and we discussed his car, engine and trans combination, manufacturer pros and cons etc. Scott is very knowledgeable and easy to talk with, as WCCC members know; I was impressed with Scott’s car and attention to detail. Thanks to our conversation, that was the day I finally decided to purchase my own cobra.

The Kit Car article details Scott’s four-year cobra project and his car merits are too long to list in this e-mail. Pick up a copy of the March KC and you’ll be impressed. I know I am.

Great job Scott!

Frank- Thanks for the kind words. Your post epitomizes what makes the WCCC such a great club. We all appreciate each other’s efforts in creating our own versions of a Cobra, whether that’s a true-to-the-original FE powered clone, a turbo V-6 Buick powered screamer, or even, God forbid, a small block Chevy powered, bastardized version like mine. You guys are a great group and I don’t think any of us take ourselves too seriously (you can hit me if I get out of line).

Now… regarding my future presence at club events, we need to come to agreement on an appearance fee befitting someone of my celebrity?

Just kidding guys, you can hit me the next time you see me.

Scott
