Blas,
The "Don" told Tom Hagen to have one of Clemenza guys handle it. At least get it right. I'm a little disappointed in you...I'll let it slide this time! DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN! I'll let you borrow the DVD if you want! LOL!

Guys,
Slow down, take a couple of steps back and several deep breaths.
You’ve taken my original e-mail about “smoking everyone at Byron” way to seriously. (Read: It was a joke! My comments were intended to wake everyone from their winter doldrums and believe I’ve succeeded.)
But I do plan to race at Byron for the first time. Realistically as the club newbie, we all know I have two chances of beating anyone in the club, i.e. slim and none. Arcenio’s 11.74-quarter mile time is an outstanding achievement, undoubtedly a club record with his 3.8 turbo charged engine, and safe from being broken. (Especially by a novice like myself.) We all know Arcenio lives and breathes for low quarter mile ET’s; it’s in his blood, the very essence of his being. By everyone’s admission, he’s the club best. But I do want to race him and learn from the best. I believe I’ll learn the proper techniques quicker by racing the best and hopefully he’ll share some of his quarter mile racing expertise with all of us. Personally, I’d be very happy if I can complete the quarter mile without, pick one or more of the following that you think apply: Blowing a shift, wrecking my car, killing someone, wetting my pants, or making an A.. of myself.
I believe life is like a smorgasbord, and we should taste/sample a little bit of everything. Regardless if I win or lose, it’s important that I try.

Oh, Thank you...Thank you Don Blassi...
Frank,
Nah...we knew you were jokin'...otherwise we'd have had Don Blassi's boys (or the Clemenza guys) cut the motor out of YOUR car! Whatever you do, you don't want to be the first WCCC member to miss a shift on the drag strip. Or get sideways...or go "Hey, that light's never going to come on. I think I'll just take off..."
Whiteknuckle Todd,
Looking forward to meeting you too. Hope we don't disappoint you!
LITE 'EM UP!

Frank,
Nice try. That touchy feely crap doesn't work with us. "Lets all hold hands and make a wish." BLAH BLAH BLAH!
You threw down...now you got to pay. No backing off!

Badman,
That's not what happens. You get hairly plams - it effects your shifting; trust me - I know.
I did shift from 2nd gear (at about 7 grand) into first at Byron. My excuse was 'hairy palms' - they get slippery.
I have more hair on my palms then I have on my head! But then, that's not saying alot.
Name withheld due to embarrassment.

What a bunch of hot air!
This thread is supposed to be about the upcoming kick-off meeting April 9th and it turns into a posting for "wanna be" drag racers and one eyed bandits!
Back to the subject matter, everyone that is planning on attending and racing on the 9th must forward confirmation to me via email by this coming Friday, March 25th. I just emailed those that haven't registered another reminder.
Hope to see a lot of you at CIR so we can at least settle the racing matter! I'll leave the rest to you blind guys!

Yes,
its time to get back to serious planning and I plan to attend the meeting / racing event. Even though I suck at go-kart racing I will give it my best shot. See you guys there.
Gary, the checks in the mail.

Gary- I will be at the meeting--but won't race this time--all of you
have a (lack of) weight advantage over me, so I'll just be a
interested spectator. I want to see everyone lap Fred at
least once ! (just kidding, Fred)

Gary, I'll give it a go. I PM you and will send check this weekend. I sure hope I'm doing the right thing. Sure have a lot of Hellcats out there. Is there going to be a junior class kart race for the rookies I hope so? With karts is the gas peddel still on the right side
Thanks,
Glen B.

Sending my check today. The little guys will be carrying ballast to level the playing field I'm sure. My lack of ability will not help to offset my weight disadvantage. Or maybe we can wet down the track so the additional tire loading will give the ,ahem, heavier guys some help. Of course CIR probably doesn't have jet driers to clean up after us. Do they have driving suite big enough for me? Did someone mention cabin fever?

Gary,
I have never been to a "BIG IMPORTANT MEETING" like this.
Members only? Can I bring a girl? Can she race? Can she race and "WIN"? I'm new and don't know the rules. (and no that's not an open invatation to mess with me ) Let me know.
Thanks,
Glen B.

Your dues cover the cost for the WCCC jet with direct flights to the Condo in Vail or Hawaii. Now the board does have the right to change where we buy our next condo or sell existing ones. And please do make sure that your address is correct with our roster. You should be getting issues to Playboy fairly soon.
BTW we own CIR. Be nice to the pretty girls there they are "special friends" to club members.

She can race BUT, she can't win ! And don't worry about the rules-we make them up as we go along.... just to mess with you. I may not know what an apex is but I know how to cheat
