WCCC quiet winter blues
Boy, the WCCC boys and girls sure have been quiet this year...
I wonder if Tom B. got that new engine installed and on the road?
I wonder if Bob M. got his car back from the mechanic with the new and improved high HP motor installed?
I wonder if Wolfie wittled new keys and found a gas can to fill up and go for a ride?
Did Ralphie ever find a car for his partner in crime Dale?
Did Lipstick really install nos?
Did Arcenio really become a suburbanite?
Did Mark really finish up the Kirkham?
Did Blas get those driving lights wired?
Is Kim's car really at the painters already?
Did Rich M. really go awol after the football season
Did Sid clean his car over the winter when he got his supercharger installed?
Has Marty really been kidnapped by the woman of Algonquin?
Inquiring minds want to know.....................
You guys and girls have been way too quiet this winter.... You're starting to worry me.

Well, the old engine is out. I am waiting on some new parts to add to the mix as long as it is out. Does anyone have any suggestions for running -8 AN line? That sh!t will not make turns!!! I hope to drop the new engine in next week and fire it up Sunday or later in the week. I definately need to get it down to MROZ for final tuning of the carb.

Tom
Are you talking about the SS Braided line? If so you should really make sure you are using the connectors that swivel it does make the routing easier and the connection is much less likely to loosen-up on you. As for making turns you definately need brackets to hold the line in place. Otherwise, you are right; it will go where ever it wants to.
I make a couple of brackets by taking a square of Aluminum and drilling holes through it large enough for the lines. (Realize I have EFI so I needed two gas lines next to each other). Then I cut the square in half - accross (through) the holes. Now you have two parts with a semi-circle in each half that fits the SS line. Tap it so you can tighten it back together; then either screw it down where you want it or recess a hole into the bottom and pop rivet from the other side.
They work great. But it is a lot of effort for something that could just as easily be done with an off the shelf clamp.
So, the engine will be up and running next week? If you need help I am sure you could get some members to stop by. They are usually really good at standing around and drinking beer while discussing what you need to do next.
Seriously, if you want some help let me know.

Chris,
What are you talking about? I have never been to AWOL - where ever that might be. You can call my wife and ask her; she'll tell you.
And another thing - What do you mean 'After' the football season?
The word infers that somehow it's over! Not only is that very cruel, it's simply not true. It's not over - it's NEVER over. It just takes a little break before it continues.
That said, I do agree with your over-all conclusion. We, as a group, have been waaay too quiet and yes it is starting to show its' effects. I have reason to believe 'some' members of this club are beginning to show the classic signs of becoming just a litttle unstable.
Oh it starts innocently enough. But being in the closed garage and sniffing too many car fumes can really effect your mind. Soon you are involved in crazy talk like 'how nice it would be to have a Red car'. You know real wacked stuff like that.
God we need to get out more.

It's never too early to make it to Clayton's, he is looking for some work, right Jerry? So, Badman, get that machine fired up and take a ride.
It's 3 o'clock and not too bad outside, think I'll fire up the Snake and go for a little jaunt.

Ahhh... the Sweet smell of Spring is in the air...
Or maybe its those stinkin' skunks out at the trash again?
Hey that's one thing they didn't tell me about being a "Suburbanite"
all them nasty little critters runnin' round at night
No, no, I'm not talking about Marty either
Hey did Marty ever finish the "Algonquin" style basement he was working on?

Hey Chris, you did read Arcy's question correctly, he inquired about LITTLE critters, not those JUMBO FRIGGEN RATS in Mayor Daley's Zoo!
And who ever turned off their insurance? I thought it was only "Dad Wolfie!"

Sounds like that should be a scheduled club inspection type road trip. We will need to discuss setting up a commity at the next meeting to elect a few members to take a trip out to Marty's to check it out. Since I am no longer allowed in the town of Algonquin I would like to volunteer my services!
