Hey Mike, leave it sit outside and let all that rain wash it clean, he won't recognize it!

It's not going to rain. Just because EMK has been doing a rain dance for the last week doesn't mean it will keep raining.
If we go on the 20th instead, Erik is going to join us with a few more tricks up his sleeve.
Where has Lowell been? Does he have to work on the 13th and the 20th?

Ugly.......................................
Sat. looks pretty bad guys
FE ran good at Autobahn & I was looking forward to spank'n some red small blocks, and a vett or two. I don't know if the 20th fits my schedule yet. Unless the town of Byron moves 200 mile west, I don't think I will be there.

That gives me some time to get some slicks and a blower!

Ok kids need opinions on the trophies...
1st, 2nd, best et, and best 60ft. or come up with some better ones. This is pretty much what we got set for now.
Should we put Vette vs Cobra on them with a date? Oh sorrry Cobra vs Vette.
Sid

If you have 1st, 2nd, & best ET, I'm assuming that we're planning on having an actual elimation type race with the Vettes, otherwise? How about a highest trap speed so the big block boys will get one, we all know they can't launch but will eventually get going pretty fast.
And should I get " My other car is a 427 cobra" stickers for the Chebbies after we stomp'em?

At what point do you decide to go for the rain date? I've got two cars apart here yet--
Bullet Bob Brown has taken the day off to attend and I might have to put one of my 5:83 gears in it if I can't finish his 3:50 gear.
Jeffko will probably blow the tires off as I've foung significanr causes for his low speed lean/bog condition
Will breakfast still be planned even with the weather as it is forcast?

My take on this issue is currently:
http://weather.wgntv.com/cgi-bin/fin...ry=Byron%2C+IL
1. Chance of driving 70 miles each way & staying dry - 15%
2. Chance of actually getting any racing in - 6.5%
3. Chance of not being really cold & miserable from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM - .0001%
4. Chance of any Chebbie beating any Cobra if we don't show - 0%
When I factor all of those percentages i come up with a chace of tomorrow being a successful outing @ 0.000975%
I never leave the house with a chance lower than 0.000976%
Also If anyone wants breakfast- a more local spot will have a 100% chance of being better than the one in Genoa. It was picked for the location on the route certainly not for the food. When a breakfast restaurant is almost empty at 7:30 AM - well you know.
Michael

Michael, what kind of farmer are you? You should know that the cows come first! Those farmers out in the Genoa area have breakfast while you are still dreaming and are hauling sh!t to the fields while you're hauling the red beast to the restaurant!

Sheeze Jerry, you were not supposed to post that. I had Arcenio and Chris right where I wanted them. ha ha I know. Well there goes my 60' times.
I'm a little confused, but I get the feeling that Mike does not expect the chances of racing are very good.
Good idea about the trophies Sid.
Was I the only one to go to Wolfie's "drag" seminar last year? I was wondering why he wanted to teach it one person at a time.

I have had some math gurus here working on the probabilities. I seems Mike's estimate is a little conservative. No racing for me.

Go figure. All the sissies backing out before morning even comes.
I'll make my decision at 7:30am on Saturday.

Although Chris does not mention that he is 15 minutes from home instead of 1 1/2" hours.

Drag racing tommorow
Looks dismal, although cool weather helps those turbos.
That is if the track ever dries up long enough to race.
Let me see....
Drive an hour plus, sit around in an open car,
in line, in the rain, in maybe 50 degree temps,
waiting for a chance to make good on the $35.00
I paid at the gate.
Na I don't think so.
