London Donation Plea
If you haven't seen this, it's a plea from the LCS to send in donations for the London Police Motorcycle. A generous donor is matching dollar for dollar any amount you donate (up to $5000.00) by May 22nd, only a few days left!
COME ON WCCC,if you haven't donated, PLEASE do so now!
Please read the following:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.londoncobrashow.com/shopping-list.html
Here's the easy link to donate.
Only til Sunday the 22nd do we take advantage of the matching funds. or you can mail them in to
Ohio Cobra Club, Inc.
P.O. Box 340498
Columbus, Ohio 43235-9998
Please put what the donation is for in the memo line of the check. Check must be postmarked by 5/22 to be included in the matching dollars!
So Far $3,110 was donated prior to the matching funds pledge and $885 since, making a total of $4880.
Our cost for the bike was $14,000, so we are only a little over a third of the way to having it paid for.
The donations have come from just 45 people as many donated twice, so far there are over 180 cars registered, and we expect 300 or more.
Thanks to all this will be a great Gift and a way to pay back the City for hosting us
We all aoppreciate this gesture!
You should know that the Ohio Cobra Club Staff has worked very hard since last years event to make this years event even better than any other DVSF or LCS event. We took your suggestions and incorporated them into creating an event tthat was what you wanted,,,,including the suggestion to Say Thanks to London in a significant way.
The guys have been meeting every two weeks since last year and now since we are getting close, we meet every week to plan and execute the details of the LCS events. Countless other hours , scouting hotels and venues and personal phone calls, emails, for solicitation, advertising, vendor coordination, facilities, and logistics planning and several who are putting in many hands -on hours in the build of the raffle car............all Volunteer Hours, and personal expense,,,,,,,,all to host one of the greatest Cobra get togethers ever! Remeber, we are a not for profit club, so all revenues from regsitration /raffle /donations /vendorsafter expenses go to CFF.
Our Goals are lofty. Our Goal is to hand CFF our Charity a check for $100,000. and to provide the City of London with a much needed Police Bike.
The only way we can meet these goals is to sell all of the raffle tickets for the car and solicit donations for the bike,,,,,and create an event that will draw 300 or so cars.
We all appreciated the slaps on the back, the handshakes and the Thank Yous, last year, But what we need now is for everyone to step up and support our Goal to CFF and The City of London.
There are only 35 days to the event
If you haven't done so yet, register for the LCS
If you haven't done so, donate to the Bike Fund Before 5/22!
If you haven't done so, buy a raffle ticket your chances of becoming a two Cobra family are really good!
Thanks for your support and donations
Steve

Ralph and Marty,
Thanks for donation reminder. I've completed my PayPal donation transaction to help purchase a London Police Department motorcycle today.
PS: I hope I don’t get a speeding ticket by one of London’s finest driving our gift motorcycle!!!

Hey Marty,
Can you broadcast this note to the WCCC e-mail list? My computer crashes when ever I try that particular move. See, I may have the only computer in existence that was manufactured by General Motors. Damn thing crashes constantly.
If anyone that plans to make a contribution to the motorcycle fund has not yet done so; now would be the time. Since the contribution will be matched it is much more likely to reach the goal.

What a great gift that can be used for public safety, especially with the matching donation offer until May 22! REMEMBER THAT YOUR DONATION IS DOUBLED YES DOUBLED UNTIL MAY 22 POSTMARKED BY THEN OR DONE THROUGH PAYPAL ON THE LONDON COBRA SHOW WEB SITE !!!

Hey Rick and other OCC members. I am going to be in Cincinatti with my wife on Tuesday and Wednesday. Any suggestions for a nice meal? We have some time to ourselves on Tuesday and are thinking of taking in the Zoo or aquarium.

Sorry Tom, don't know a thing about Cincy. Take a look at www.ohiocobraclub.com on the members list. Drop Scott Baeten a email or call, he lives in that area.

Dean,
Glad to hear that you donated and will be going to London. Last week I saw pictures of your KMP and it looked great. I am interested to see what it looks like in person. I am still trying to shake down my KMP for London. What day are you traveling to London? The Windy City Cobra Club caravan is heading through Indianpolis Thursday morning to hook up with some other members that live south of Chicago. On the map it looks like you will be passing through Indianpolis too. Let us know if you want to join up with us.
Mark
PS: Last day for matching donation funds ..... keep it coming guys!

If any one is coming into the Columbus area, the Mid-Ohio hotels are directly in your path! So, depending on when you are coming, it could be a good meeting spot.

I sent you a check during the 'match period'. However, I do not see my name listed as a contributor on the match list. So what gives? There needs to be a full investigation!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, snail mail. We are waiting a couple of days to check the PO bix so we know we have them all. Anything post marked during the matching period will be counted! I would imagine we will do that over the week end and have a final tally next week. Stay tuned and THANKS!!

I know, I was pulling your leg - I am not at all worried.
On a much more serious note. How are sales of raffle tickets going. I know you are limiting the sales to 2,500 chances. Are they almost gone? Will there be any tickets left when we get to London?

I am going to guess that 400-500 have sold so far. Limit is 2500. Frankly, if the numbers don't improve greatly on the raffle ticket sales, I doubt we will raffle off a car, at least a finished one, next year. As many of you know, building a car is a lot of work. Not mention all the time it took to get people to donate the parts, promote their contributions, etc. If folks don't show enough interest in a raffle car then we will do something else for Cystic Fibrosis in 2007!
Either way, we will have a ball in London!

To be honest, I think raffleing a kit might be the better way to go! You build it the way you want, the color you want, etc. Less effort on your side. Also, I think seperate auctions or raffles for some garage goodies might be in order. Most of the audience you are selling to have a car. The might build it differently if they had the chance to, and a kit gives them that. But what they really need is toys for their snake and the snake pit it lives in

BTW, just saw the post about a seafood restauraunt across from the aquarium. Wife and I are not huge seafood fans anyways, but eating at a seafood joint next to the aqaurium seems akin to eating at a Chinese restauraunt next to a pet shop or vet. No offense ment there, just clean fun!
