Byron this weekend anyone?
I am planning to go Saturday, as long as there no rain. Weather forecast is looking good for sat high in the mid 50's and 10mph breeze. Just seeing if anyone else is interested.

Well got up this morning(5:45) and it was raining -- bummer--- checked the internet weather, should clear up by 8:00 --good can still go !! 8 rolls around roads alittle wet, check weather again --looks good till 6. Call the track they are drying the track getting ready to run. I am going get the car out check fluids (all topped off) check axle nuts (good) get gas on the way--- car warmed up time to go --9:15 alittle later than I would have liked but still get their about 10-10:30---I take off rumbble around the town for a few minutes now go get gas leave towards my favorite station ------------------------------man not even 3 miles from my house car dies, know exactly what it is -- distributor gear pin sheared (happened bofore at London,Ohio)Well I have been getting ready to replace the distributor just got all the parts(steel gear and advance curve kit) and set up on Thursday --no time to put in before track --geesh would have taken around 15-20 minutes to do ---but NOOOO got to go to the track. Well nothing I like better than working on the side of the road (55mph speed limit) atleast not to far from home -- 5 minitues a friend stops get a ride back to my house to get the new distributor-- back to car in 15 min. lotsa poeple stop most I know (Kim M. too thanks for stopping)afew new . takes forever to get distributor indexed finally get running timing set double check everything now the time is noon ---- not going to the track--- drive around a bit never made it to the gas station either --got home rechecked timing drove alittle and put away ----
--- Change distributor at home 20 minutes -----------
--- Change on side of road 2.5 to 3 hours ------------
--- Having Murphy"s Law do its thing PRICELESS!!! ---
Now time to do work around the house - since it is such a nice day 60 Deg light wind (perfect for racing LOL!!!!!!!!)
AL car fine, me going thru shakes and twitching got to go racing soon!!!

Byron? Byron Illinois??? I'm a little less than an hour southwest of there and it never dried out today. Now it's raining. You probably were better off staying in town. Tomorrow looks even worse.
I'm trying to finish some dirt work (No, Wolfie, not "dirty work" ) and spread some gravel but it'll have to wait.
We did have a nice dinner at Al Capone's hideaway in St. Charles last night, though.

Yes, Byron Illinois. I live in Cortland by Dekalb. It would be about a 45 mile drive to the dragway. Now it has been raining here for about 45-60 min.
Sometimes events just work out not as planned, maybe better though. Not wet, car in one piece...still shaking will have to watch speed channel LOL

Yeah, I know...just kidding!
Cortland, huh? We go by there on the way to Elburn to catch the train to Chicago. We visit DeKalb and Sycamore quite a bit, too. Maybe we'll pass on the road one of these days.
