I thought everyone was going to Sid's to coach him in the "clean-up" process Sat AM. There is a scheduled clutch/throw-out bearing/master/slave cylinder/bleeding seminar at my garage (Sid's car's second home) using the Sidmobile as the vehicle. All are welcome to watch/assist/giggle/marvel etc. Should happen about Noon.

mdmull,
What slave cylinder are you guys going to use? I will donate a new BDR one, I have plenty of stock ones. I could sell my upgrade setup. Interested.
Bill

Bruce, I told Jerry I didn't need no stinkin' brakes! Didn't use any while crashing last year!

of course the lack of half his system could of been a contributing factor to the loss of control

Bill,
We are using the stock 3/4 Master with a Forte's parts Slave that bolts right up to the stock bellhousing. We have found that we are getting full throw on both the master and the slave. Still not enough to engage the clutch properly. So the Spec clutch is coming out and I'm going to try a Centerforce clutch instead. Also going to take a look at the fork to see if we are getting any hanging issues there.
My car looks fantastic If I say so myself! Washed, Claybar, and waxed. I just tried the Mother's wheel polish stuff and it is great! Going to get done with my final tonight and try to get one wheel clean completely tonight. Man does that stuff smell great!
Sid

Sid,
Have you adjusted the pivot pin? I adjust mine out to where the clutch fork almost hit the pressure plate and just have some play in the clutch fork. It give me plenty of travel.
Or I use another set up with a cantilever action. I have aquired the use of certain brackets and a different slave cylinder for this setup. Works very well and gives the best feel for the clutch.

Sid, Did you try dropping the slave down to 5/8" diameter? You will get a better extension on the slave cylinder if you downsize the diameter 1 size from your 3/4"master cylinder. be sure it has a wrist pin to prevent over-extension.....easier than replacing a clutch.....if it works.....

No I haven't. It is at the stock setting. We will take a look at that when we get the trans out. I'm willing to try anything.

Sid,
Anyting huh? I've got some chickens, a goat, and other various farm animals.
I also just bought a 55 gallon drum of baby oil from Sam's Club. Wolfie said he would bring the Leiderhosen for you too.
Are you still willing to try anything (again)?

So Chris you got a motor yet or do you still have an overpriced slab of Fiberglass you call a car?
Keep talking and I'll have Jerry C start working on my cobra...
