Glen, I may be interested, but are you saying that there is only 1 session for cars? That can't be right. I've put it on my schedule but not sure how buisy I'll be then.

Hey guys,
8 to 9 sessions, each session 20min long.
Worked out great! You can cool the car down,
do any maint. you need, review your track lines.
I will tell you, these guys on the bikes are crazed.
I'll stick to 4 wheels. Gingerman was cool, we ran it backwards
and at the speeds I was running due to the lack of skill was fun.
Later in the afternoon I got faster and, and, well lets just say that
spinning out brings you back to reality. No harm done, other than to
my ego!

Gratten is much cooler than Gingerman. Longer straight, a cool tight S-turn and even a twisty off camber area. I don't how crowded it will be with cars, but when I was on a bike 20 minutes felt like a long time because you were doing so much to accommodate the track.
Hey if its good enough for the Auto rags it will be good enough for a few Cobra's!

Bob, if your in I can let you know where to send the check.
So far I think we only have 5 cars.
As far as time to get there I'm guessing 2 1/2hr - 3
I went to Gingerman in 2hr with the trailer but I went on a Sun. and came back on Tue. morning. I will be doing the same thing this trip. I live S.W. I-80 & Rt30 ish. The Borman sucks but after that it's a nice drive. Driving up there in the morning, 9 to 5 on the track and then back is a long day!
This is not limited to just Cobra's. If you have any other hot rods in your stable bring them out.
Thanks,
Glen

Hey guys,
I am one of those crazy four wheeled guys that helps orgnaize these events. Since most of the track days I go to I am also the organizer, track time is hard to find, so for the last 3 years, a close knit group of my friends and I have been holding these events. Its not for profit, but for good fun and it gives me the opportunity to get out and actually get some track time myself. Interested parties should definitely contact Glen. Thanks Glen!
1. Grattan is about 3.5-4.0 hours from the Chicago area and is located just Northeast of Grand Rapids, MI.
2. We have 2 groups of motorcycles and 1 group of cars with a maximum of 10 vehicles on the track at one time. Each group will have one 20 minute session per hour and will be run from 9am-Noon, and then from 1pm-5pm.
3. With the above timeframe, drivers should be able to drive for 6-7 sessions which means 2 hours of track time!
4. Grattan is very challenging and thus extremely rewarding when driven correctly. At 2 miles long with only one real straight-away, you do the math!!!
5. For those of you looking to get more track time, please see my other post. (I know, a shameless plug)
Hope some you can join us,
Brian.
