How much for tuning?
Hey guys,
I was just wondering how much it should cost to get my car tuned. I just got it on the road, and I need to get it running correct. I see alot of you guys take your cars to Jerry, I might just have to do that. I was just wondering what a good rate is per hour.
Thanks,
Mike

This may sound stupid but what do you men by 'tuning'?
First, are you EFI or Carb?

Carb. Im thinking like a dyno tune. I have never tuned a carb before, and I think that its running a little rich. I just want to make sure everything is running well.
Thanks,
Mike

What are you running?
If it is a fairly stock engine the dyno will help getting it set right but you will not get all that much more power. I mean there just is not that much to play with to get extra power out of it.
If it's just timing and jetting the Carb on a stock motor you could probably save the dyno cost.
The dyno is not cheap. If you are on the machine a couple hours to set and reset etc. You will pay for it.

Mike,
So is you car ready to make a debut?
Have you had it out on the street?
This weekend is not good because of the holiday and all but I would like to see it. If you need some help with the final touch-ups left me know.
Now is the time the members can help alot. I have a lift but I do live in the city, you are more than welcome to stop by to get those final touchs completed.

Hey thanks for the offers. I have the car on the road, its not painted, its in gelcoat, and I still have some little stuff to finish, the problem is that it just doesn't seem important when im driving it. I went over to the volo show for a little bit. Sorry I didn't talk to anyone, But loved the cars. I want to pay my dues and be more part of the club so I have to get on that. I know I will be calling some guys for help, and a lift is always nice.
Thanks again,
Mike

You are welcome to use the lift anytime.
We will be posting for the vintage races (the 'Bric') at Elk Hart Lake in the next day or so. It is for Saturday the 21st; since it is an event for non-members as well as members why don't you plan on making the trip? If you do not feel comfortable driving your Cobra that far you can always use a daily driver. I will make sure I e-mail you an invite
