Mike,

Gary got a phone call that is why he let off. Wal Mart called and said that he got the job as a Wal Mart Greeter.

LOL!!!!!

Sounds like he had Sid calling guys from the pits to distract them---need louder exhausts to drown out the cell phones

Oh, well, back to repair welding on some titanium wheelie bars for this weekends dragstrip visit.

Okay, here is a "real" Shelby GT350 at Mid-ohio this July in the Vintage Grand Prix.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1n7_gGCN9s

I was chasing two Camaro's around in the Group 6 race until I had a little um, bump with a guardrail....
Great track!!!

Looks like you got a "little loose" of the right hander in second gear.... Hope you did not hurt the car too bad....

BTW: what is your race car number,I'm sure I've seen it race before.....

I am racing it as #159 which is the Shelby number. It was raced as #88 prior to that. Car was not hurt bad, it is already fixed and ready to go.
Yep, we just got on the gas a little hard and I was off-line. That part of the track I found I should be track center or a little left even. Too far right screws up the next turn.

So Rich, how was Autobahn?
I may go there with MVP on 8/20 if my schedule allows. It looks like the track has a lot of run-off Perfect for me....I sometimes go dirt track racing...
Which course did you use?
Thanks,
MC

Mr. Richard Shelby has never posted on Clubcobra.com He feels until Carroll Shelby acknowledges his birth right he will not share his vast knowledge of chicken farming with anyone.

He will sign dash boards for $5 though.

Rob,
I'm not sure how to take your comment....
Of course I was racing at the Vintage Grand Prix and I would not drive that hard at an open track event with street legal cars.
I would add that all of us on the track assume the risk when we go racing or even participate in an open track event. In fact, in my race alone, there were at least three spins other than mine that I am aware of. I was the only guy to hit something. The '66 GT350 spun on turn one on the first lap of the race, and the Cobra spun in front of me in the Keyhole. After that, the blue Camaro spun somewhere and ended up behind me for a few laps.

Anyway, yep I screwed up, but pretty much any guy who races and makes an effort to get faster will sooner or later slip up. I should not have gassed it that hard on lap 8 with tires that were going away on me. I should have just rode out my spot and finished the race.....

Hell, if I was out there with street legal Corbas you would only see a white flash as I went by!

Note:This post was in response to Rob's post which has been edited, so this really does not apply or may not make sense to some....

Just kidding....don't get upset
