Default Interested in the club

I just took my first step down the road to a cobra. I should be picking the frame (phase 1 package) up around September 6th.

Any info on the process of joining and all advice on the upcoming build would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

Default Thanks!

Thanks for all the comments and replies. I can't wait to get this started. I sent off a couple of e-mail with regards to membership.

Badman > Nice post about the support and suggestions during the build. I've never done anything like this before and I'm still getting strange looks from the wife. I plan on going about this with a bit of a twist, I'm not going to use a donor car and use as many new or after-market parts as possible.

So ALL comments, suggestions or criticisms are welcome.

Ed

Hey, Captain,

Algonquin, huh? One of the guys in our club knows a LOT of people from Algonquin! Unfortunately, I don't know any of them personally, but I'd sure recognize some from their pictures...

Seriously, though, this is a GREAT bunch of guys and gals, with lots of expertise and ability and a family atmosphere. Keep the fridge stocked and you'll always have help when you need it!

Good luck with your project.

Lowell

LOL! Wait till she meets us! Congrats! You're going to love it! Why don't you come to the Snake and Eggs on the 12th? You can see a few cobras finished and talk to some that have built theirs. You are welcome to bring family and friends.

Cool Thanks! Don't think I have anything going on the morning of the 12th. I'll do my best to make it.

WOW, what a great time in the build/ownership of a Cobra.
All the decisions to make:
1. What size engine to use?
2. EFI vs. Carb’ed?
3. Thinking about suspension options; steering & braking decisions.
4. Just how to personalize the interior space.
5. Obviously, the single most important question to answer; just what shade of Blue is my favorite???

Wow, it just brings back so many great memories.

See you at the S&E on Sunday.

Yes I am. It is a slow process though. I am building a FFR Coupe.

Sten, another neighbor. I would assume you built a roadster? Any pictures?

Eddie, if you feel I am hijacking your thread feel free to tell me to start my own.

Also if you need a hand, and the wife lets me, I would be more than willing to come over and help.

No hijacking worries here...

Is anyone else in the building stage on a Classic Roadsters II?

I will be picking up my frame and rear-end the first week in September and I'm trying to get a handle on what front and rear suspension components I need to buy (i.e. coil over kit), along with a good aftermarket 4 wheel disc kit.

Thanks,

Ed

Hey Eddie, you are about 3 miles from me. The chassis on my car is a CR according to a couple of "experts."
If you want to stop by, I'll put the Cobra on the lift so you can see the frame/suspesion setup.

Red,

I wouldn't mind coming over to take a look as well. It is always a pleasure to see nice cars.

Ralph,
You lure more young men to your house with that "put it up on the lift" line...
Then you talk about "the first thing that pops up" with them....
Are you taking your medication?

Yes, it's a roadster,It's RED,it's a riot, and yes I'll give you a hand if I can too! The basic FFR stuff is pretty similar. It's nice to have someone that has been down the trail before.
Sorry no pix yet.Haven't gotten a digital camera yet.I'll get around to it one of these days.
