Vintage Fall Festival At Roadamerica This Weekend
Looks like a gorgeous weekend for the Vintage Fall Festival. I'll spend Friday evening in southern WI and then Ken (Sandy) and I will drive up to Elkhart Lake tomorrow morning. We'll look in the usual spot for any WCCC members...hope some of you guys 'n gals can make it!

It was ch-ch-chilly out there today, but a nice group of cars (especially if your into Mustangs!).
Hope to see you all there if you come out, though the Cobra is staying in the garage this weekend.

Well, we had a great day Saturday at RA! Met Yetiman at the top of the hill by turn 6 and ran into Bob and Cindy Haug on the lawn overlooking turn 5. We also ran into a couple of new WCCC guys with SPF's in Elkhart Lake after the reenactment tour but I'm sorry, guys, I can't remember your names. There was quite an eclectic collection of interesting cars on the tour. I don't think they wanted me in there with my "replica" but I told them the bugs on the front were original so they let me in. Nah...just kiddin'...
The weather was beautiful for the most part: a little nipply early and late in the day but perfect once the sun was higher.
Today was a little cool, too, driving west through southern Wisconsin but I put the top in the trunk somewhere east of Lake Geneva and enjoyed the rest of the drive. I even turned off the seat heater somewhere around Janesville, continued west to Monroe and then headed south to home.
We missed seeing the rest of you folks but look forward to getting together with everyone in October.

"Nipply", you say...
...Lowell, as the saying goes, "it was colder than testicles on a brass monkey!"
A last minute decision to go on a backwoods cruise this morning almost put us on a collision path with you.
Chris with his son as navigator, grandpa Wolfie, Michael M., Bob M., Bud and Barb, Jeff, and I met at 9 AM in Woodstock and proceeded to bring a little noise into the quiet countryside of southern Wisconsin. Along the way we made pit, breakfast and lunch stops at Lake Geneva, Elkhorn and Eagle, Wisconsin.
While going trough a small town that was holding a harvest festival parade, we unexpectedly drove down Main Street cheered on by hundreds of spectators, who were probably thinking the Cobras were the lead-in to the start of the parade.
Although chilly in the morning, once the clouds receded around noon, it was quite a comfortable ride. My odometer showed 174 miles for our little Sunday jaunt in the beautiful winding and hilly backcountry roads. Perhaps a long “Indian Summer” will give us a few more oppertunities to partake in such spirited cruises with good friends.

Ralph,
Yeah, BUT...if the monkey were sitting in my car, they'd be nice and warm, now that I have seat heaters! Yep, sounds like we almost crossed paths. Hope you had as great a drive as I did! I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone on the 6th.
Charlie,
Great photos! Some friends of ours were racing over the weekend (green Corvette #303 and green AH 3000 #202) and you got some very nice pix of them. I emailed them your link.
