Trip To GT-40 Heaven
HI
Winter is here with a vengeance and the cobras are all tucked in but that doesn't mean that we can't take a trip without them. If you have received your latest issue (March) of Kit Car magazine you noticed on the cover another article about RCR, Race Car Replicas.
Race-Car-Replicas - 586-329-1573
If you check their web site out you'll find that they have more then just GT 40s. They have a very nice shop just outside of Detroit.
The trip will be on Saturday March 22. We will leave EARLY Saturday morning, arrive at the shop around 9:00 am, tour the shop and return to the Chicago area Saturday evening. One of our members has a deal with a rental car company so we would rent a van, or we will get a bus if the response is great, we would split the rental and gas fees as well as the driving. Please reply to me if you want to do this.

I’m in for the bus. Hope they have a TV so we could watch some DVDs. Nothing nasty so the driver can stay on the road!

I was there a few months ago. Great shop. Fran is a wealth of knowledge. Not to invite myself but would you Windy City guys mind if a few Detroit boys showed up for the tour?

What day isn't Chris available? Ok, that's the day we're going to Detroit.
Just kidding Marty. You guys have fun.
Jim, I'm sure you guys would fit right in with most of the WCCC.

I'm not going to make it kids. Marty did you find a bus? Also Looks like the Motor City boys want to tag along. Would be pretty cool to finally get some clubs together...

I'm not sure I can make it either (business trip) but will try. There are a few Detroit boys that are interested in meeting up with the Windy City guys to visit the shop.

Hi everyone,
I sent an e-mail last night to only the people that have expressed an interest in attending the March 22nd WCCC trip to RCR in Detroit. Briefly, I outlined our travel plans, travel times, meeting point, estimated fuel cost, etc. to help finalize the event. Send me an e-mail or call me on my cell phone if you would like to attend and I will discuss the event with you.
This is shaping up to be a great WCCC outing, so snooze and you loose.

We braved the roads, they were tough, and got there 1 & 1/2 hours late. Fran was still there and gave us the tour. An amazing place. Some VERY interesting vehicles and projects in progress. The ride home was a breeze.

We were late. There were a few others there, but no one identified themselves as cobra guys. Not looking for us. I suspect we missed them.
