Question Place to rent an enclosed trailer (locally)

Anybody know where I can rent an enclosed trailer big enough to hold a CRII body?

Both U-Haul and Budget don't offer anything big enough.

Thanks in advance,

Ed

How about a 14' or 16' van body truck.

Thanks.

I know I can rent a truck thats big enough. I have a Ford F150 and would prefer driving that instead of a rental truck, thats why I was looking for trailer rentals. Push comes to shove, I might have to go to the truck rental route.

U-Haul has car carrier trailers for rent (call for availability) for 39.95 per day. You just have to pick it up wherever it was left at.

I think those are open to the ground down the center. I need a trailer to haul just the body, not the body on the chassis. Do you know if they have a car hauler that is basically a big flat bed trailer?

Thanks,

Ed

OK. I just looked at the car carrier. It might work if I can balance the body over the opening down the center of the trailer or maybe I could throw a sheet of 4x8 plywood down first then the body.

Sure no problem. Right now I'm planning on picking up a trailer on Friday June 6th. After I get the trailer I'll be heading to my body-shop guy in St. Charles to pick up the body.

As to comparing notes.....

I'd be more than happy to tell you what I want this to turn out to be, but I got really lucky and Ed/DV Combs is doing most of the build in his shop in Michigan. DV is the guy who shoehorned a Viper V10 into a CRII and as far as I'm concerned the leading authority on Classic Roadsters. He is very active over in the CR forum dishing out his years of knowledge on this kit.

Let me know if you want to get together on the 6th of June. I would be more than happy to meet another CRII owner.

Ed

Thanks for the offer on the pipes. I did get a set from Don at CRII and they are coated and waiting to get bolted on.

I have an 18' enclosed car trailer you can borrow if you would like. I am in Arlington Heights. I need to use in on June 6th for a trip to Blackhawk Farms for a Northwoods Shelby Club event but you are welcome to use it before then or pick it up that evening and no rush in getting it back.

Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it.

Thanks!

Ed,

I sent you a PM with my contact information. Send me an email at that address if you would like to follow up on borrowing the trailer.
