I think we should seriously consider this. The GLCC is a really good group and we'll have a great time. I second the motion...

Hi guys,
Sorry I have not replied to this sooner, I did talk to Bob the other day and will have more info for you guys as soon as possible.
But for right now those dates are correct. Sept. 19th - 21st.
I am still trying to firm up the hotel at this time though. Unfortunately I have to find a hotel that is willing to deal with 30 or so Cobras and not charge us a arm and a leg also. Trying to keep it between $80-90.
Most likely I will have you guys meet us in Traverse City unless you want to meet us in Fenton where we usually start from.
Friday night we will all meet for dinner at the local brewery and then cruise and terrorize the main drag.
Saturday the cruise route is looking like it will be up thru Charlevoix then North Shore and thru the Tunnel of Trees and back around, we will be planning a few stops to stretch the legs, looking like maybe about 150 miles that day.
We will take a short break for a hour or two and then everyone will meet at the TC Yatch club for dinner again as a group.
Sunday we usually try and do breakfast and zip over to one of the wineries before heading back home.
Hope that helps and you all can join us.
By the way this is open to anyone that would like to join us.
Thanks and more to come soon.
Todd

Yes, we are interested in going. Sounds like a great time. Todd, we met at the build school a couple of weeks ago. It was a great time and I learned a lot.

Little more of an update
Sorry about the delay guys, still trying to firm up the hotels and a couple
of other details but this is what we have so far.
Should have something more later tonight or tomorrow, but looks like
the Quality Inn on US 31.
As of right now we will be starting Friday from Fenton on US 23 and
Owen Rd. and going up to TC via 23 to 10 to 127 to 55 to 42 to 131 to
113 to 611 and into town. We have a stop scheduled at Houghton Lake for
gas and a Lunch.
You guys could meet with us at the 131/42 corner around 3pm our
time and follow us up from there.
Your best bet would be going from 94 to 196 to 131 and then meeting us
at the above point. This would put us in at TC about an hour later. Then
at 6pm we will have dinner as a group at a local Micro-brews in town.
This is the route that we are working out for Saturday.
1. Start would be at 10am at the hotel. Trying to find a nice winery for a stop in here somewhere just not sure yet.
2. Charlievoix 30min stop
3. Petoskey State park 30min stop
4. Harbor Springs and lunch somewhere in town here.
5. Tunnel of Trees.
6. Cross Village, Legs Inn 15min stop
7. Boyne Falls, probably a gas stop here 15 mins
8. Back to hotel, 1.0-1.5 hours break, then to BBQ @ the shop of one of the local guys around 6-6:30pm. Some of the local guys are working to have the
food and drinks there for us when we get there.
Overall this is 190 miles for Saturday.
Sunday we usually run into a winery on the peninsula after breakfast
and then head home after that. Generally we retrace our steps going back
home from Friday.
Hope this helps and you guys can join us. As I know more I will let you
know.
Thanks,
Todd

Color Tour Info Hotels & etc.
Hi everyone,
Here is the latest update on the Fall Color Tour for Sept 19th - 21st.
The hotel is going to be the Quality Inn, 1492 US 31 North, Traverse City, MI 49686.
The Phone number is (231)929-4423. They have a block of 25 rooms reserved for us right now and if we need more that can be arranged. They are all supposed to be grouped together to make it easier to watch the cars and stay together overall.
The rooms are $89 + Tax per night. You must call and make the RESV. yourself and must tell them that you are with the Factory Five Owners Group to get the rates. You can talk to whoever answers the phone to make the reservations.
All reservations need to be made by Friday August 15th., they may work with us on that but for now that is the cutoff date.
The Michigan group will be starting Friday from Fenton on US 23 and Owen Rd. at the KFC (3180 Owen Rd. Fenton, MI 48430) and going up to TC along the same route as last year, 10AM. This should allow us to hook up with the Windy city Cobra Club along the route just after we get back on the road after lunch. The lunch stop is scheduled at Houghton Lake for gas and a Lunch at the same spot again also. The meeting stop for the WCCC should be just around 3pm and we will go into town again as a group from there.
Then at 6pm we will have dinner as a group at a local restaurant in town called Freshwater Lodge @ 13890 S West-Bay Shore Dr. Traverse City, MI 49684.
The Freshwater is asking, if they, because of the size of the group, could limit the menu slightly. If this is a problem then please let me know as soon as possible. Such as vegetarian or medical reasons, etc.
Saturday is going to be the cruise and will start approx. 10am, we will not be able to start much later than that because we will have some other stops along the way and we will need to be back for the planned BBQ in the evening.
This BBQ will be at one of the TC local's ( Tom Gray's ) shop located just outside of town on 72. This BBQ is being sponsored by himself and another local ( Wayne Olsen) and will be free to everyone that shows up. They are asking that we do not collect any money for them this time out, but that will be up to the rest of you, I promised them I would not ask personally.
Sunday we will run into a winery on the peninsula after breakfast for those that would like to join us, and then head home after that.
Maps will be provided for everything once you hook up with me Friday morning or evening on the way to the restaurant. I may just leave a number of them at the hotel front desk for everyone to grab there also.
WCCC guys, if you guys would like to come in Thursday and leave from Fenton with us let me know, there are a couple of hotels about a 1/2 mile from the starting point and we will make arrangements to wait for you to start. I can get you the name and numbers of those hotels if that is the case. Just let me know.
This is also by no means limited to just the Cobras although we would like to have as many as possible, it is by no means limited to just us. If you have someone that would like to join us they are more than welcome. But the bank of rooms are being held first for the cobras then for the others. The hotel told me that they would have more than enough rooms for us.
Please, as you make your reservations email me or PM me from one of the Forums and let me know, so that I can keep up a count and manage things for the resteraunts, stops and BBQ.
My forum name is Todd Baumann
and my email is baumann_todd@yahoo.com
Thanks everyone, and hope to see you all there.
Todd

Hey guys,
Just heard from Gary Neilsen from your area and he has booked to join us. He is going to come in to Fenton on Thursday and leave with us Friday morning.
Sure hope that there are more of you that are going to join us, we are going to have a blast.
Remeber, you have to register by August 15th, then the rates will change. You can register and cancel up to 24 hours in advance if you change your minds or plans.
Thanks,
Todd

Todd: Peg and I have reservations for the trip, sounds like fun. Pressure is on though, I have got to fix an electrical problem with the headlights cutting out before we think about making the trip.

Hi everyone,
I talked to John the asst. manager Friday and he said that they would continue to honor the rate for a while longer. As of Friday we had 14 of us that were staying and using the hotel and approx. another 8-10 that will be already there and joining us for dinner Friday and the tour on Saturday. So it looks like we will have a good showing overall.
For those of you that have already signed up and are going to drive up and meet us in Michigan for the last little jaunt of the cruise we will meet you guys at approx 3:00 PM at a Shell Gas Station on US131, right at the corner of 131 & 42, the address is 102 S.Michigan Ave, Manton MI, 49663.
Any other questions please feel free to contact me by PM or email and I will try and give everything that I can.
Thanks and hope to see you all there.
Todd

Todd: Lights are fixed and ready to go! We are planning to drive up on Friday AM, looks like the hook-up spot is Haughton Lake around noon or there abouts. If we miss, where is the spot you refer to at 3PM? Thanks.

Tim,
We are scheduled to eat lunch in Houghton at a bar called Limberlost. We are scheduled to be there by 1:00 and back on the road shortly after that. The 3:00 meeting location is @ 131 and 42. We are going straight up from there to the hotel to check in. If you guys are unable to meet us there then we will be meeting for dinner at the Freshwater Lodge on 13890 S West-Bay Shore Dr. (US31).
More detailed info to follow in a couple of days.
