Directions to the show---right on route 64, middle of town---
I believe the 1000 entrants included cars and bikes----
I presented the trophys last year and it seemed like it took forever---course that included a short speach!!!!!
The River Valley Kart Club will be there with some karts displayed--this club does a lot of road racing if any one is interested--Road America, Blackhawk Farms,IRP, Gingerman, Granton,Gateway, Mid-Ohio,in this area and members participate at races at Daytona, VIR, Road Atlanta, Summit Point,Lowden, etc. I believe that they may have a raffle drawing for a surprise item for a benefit for Adam Shautz, a club member who was killed in an accident at Road America last weedend.

having spent a number of evenings down at Jim's shop with Adam, this news really took my breath away...
Thoughts and prayers are with the Schatz family.

Adam was competing at the kart races at Road America a week ago--more info on www.ekartingnews.com
There is a service for him tomorrow ( Wed) 3-9 pm in Chicago.
He had a severe brain stem/upper spine injury that was recoverable from. I'm sorry but I 'm having difficult time searching for the works to describe the total event and aftermat. Headline article on the EkartingNews web site forum.

Thank you Jerry. I didn't know Adam but of course I am very sorry to hear about the tragedy. I just started working my way throught he "ekarting news" threads. Sounds like a great young man, very appreciated by his peers. My prayers go out for him and his family.
We have a dear friend who was injured and in a coma from a racing accident a few weeks ago. Luckily he pulled through and is in recovery.

Just bringing this back to the top---the people who come to this show will have some of everything and 98% really friendly with maybe only 2% in the look don't touch group ( nothing wrong with that) It is not a trailered car show but a driver show---lots of interest and you'll see something of everything-----including bikes---
