Blas, By chance do you know any details like when does it start,if we bring the cobra is it there for the whole day or can we leave when we want, any beverages allowed, stuff like that.
I live right by the track and might want to drive home and come back. Can we do that? Thanks, Russ

Hey, Rooster, I see nobody has answered your questions and I know you're considering attending this event. I think they would like the people to leave their cars on display all day long, but if you have to leave, I don't believe they will put an arrest warrant out for you with the Carpentersville Police.

Hey, Russ, you live within walking distance of the track, we can sneak over to your house and get a little refreshments every so often.
But be prepared, there are a bunch of lushes in our club!

50th Anniversary

Meadowdale International Raceways

Reunion and Festival

September 13-14, 2008 Raceway Woods, Carpentersville, Illinois

[ ] RACE VEHICLE [ ] "SPECTATOR CAR " ENTRY FORM

This display is open to sports cars, motorcycles, drag racers, stock cars, karts and other vehicles that did, or could have, raced at Meadowdale from 1958 to 1969 (pre-58 OK). These cars must approximate race trim for their era. An adjacent area will display interesting and clean “Spectator Cars”- non-race vehicles of pre-1970 vintage- street sports cars and hot rods, kustoms, motorcycles, etc. This is a non-judged show. There is no entry fee. There will be a nice presentation award for the first 75 pre-entered vehicles each day. Pre-entry cut-off: September 2, 2008.

Wow, Richard, great photos of the 60's era. I watched several races at Meadowdale as a teenager and your pictures sure bring back some neat memories! Thanks!

How to get there in case non-members would like to come and meet the gang:

Meadowdale Raceway is in Raceway Woods, an open space property west of IL Route 31 and north of Huntley-Dundee Road.
Two parking and access points:
1) West side of IL Rte 31 about 1 mile north of Huntley Rd.
2) North side of Huntley Rd about 1 mile west of IL Rte 31.

Just a reminder that next weekend in the 50th anniversary celebration event at Meadowdale Raceway. (Saturday)

I’m pleased to announce that the Windy City Cobra Club has the first parking area at the top of the hill reserved for us. This is the first display area visitors will see when entering the park. Plan to arrive at the park around 8:30 or so. Remember to bring your lawn chairs, and a cooler, etc. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate for the weekend. Do we want to have a breakfast beforehand? We had 7 people who had mentioned they were planning to attend. But the more the merrier. Check your email and “Reply to All” on the message if you want to have a breakfast…Hope to see many cars attend, even if it’s only for a few hours.

Blas,

Is the WCCC parking area going to be off of Huntley Rd. or Rt. 31?

Is the parking actually on the old track or in the gravel parking lot.

Went there last weekend for a hike. Great place, we try to get out there a couple times a year to walk around. Those guys and gals were brave...........

Thanks,

The forecast calls for rain on Saturday, but that doesn't really mean much. I may make the Sunday show also, besides the Saturday show.
