I just picked up Backdraft 357 and ran into Sid (senior member on the board)at a gas station. Turns out he lives a couple blocks from me (two gray and silver Backdrafts in the same subdivision - what are the odds?). He asked me to put out this post and introduce myself. Looking forward to meeting you and going for a ride. Thanks, Jim.

Jim,
It was good running into you at the gas station! Now I'm going start the trash talking. let's see if you can handle it. LOL!
I can't figure out if he is a Fender waxer or not. He does have that tire shine stuff on his tires...
Jim-Honestly it sounds great and looks great too! We will be posting events on this board regularly just pop in on any event. We are really easy going club and love to see new owners take part in events. I know you got kids and don't have too much time on the weekends. But most of us get up early, fire up the beast and grab some breakfast with the gang. Usually end up with a quick drive and then back home. We call them Snake and Eggs. You should feel free to post any event you want. If you got a good breakfast spot or car show you go to just shout it out! Or any other event.
Some members have posted about their kids HS car show and we have had the biggest showing of any club during those events.

Welcome Jim,
Agreed, what are the odds of two snakes in the same neighborhood and being the same color combination.
I hope you enjoy your ride and your visits to this site, Club Cobra and the experts that reside here have been more than helpful to me on many of my projects. Hopefully, I have been able to return the favor a time or two. Great bunch of guys in the Windy City Cobra Club.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have has the car two weeks and had it in the car show over the weekend -tell me when you first got yours, that there was no Tire Shine on the car. At least I did not have to replace the gear shift to a shorter one. You know what they say about guys with short gear shifts...
here's the link to the Cobra if anyone is interested

Hey Sid,
Jim's car doesn't have bird crap on it. You should see if your key fits his and trade him. Maybe he won't notice........ LOL
Look forward to meeting you Jim.
Great car you have there.

If you had the chance to cruise a little with Sid after you met him you know what I mean. You know,,,, dirty car,,,,,, drives like a sissy,,,,can't keep up,,,,gets lost alot,,,,,always needs to stop to take pee breaks,,,,,,can't wake up on time,,,always late,,,,doesn't know anything about cars,,,,oh waite,,,,,,thats me!!!!! never mind. Welcome Jim!!!

I keep the dirt on my car so you guys don't feel like I have a weight advantage.
Short shifter nice one Jim! Ok he cool!
So how fast do you think we can get Jim's wife to hate us? Any takers? I'm saying first time she meets us.
That should get the ball rolling!

Sid's up to his old tricks again... picking up guys in a gas station.
Next thing you know he'll be selling chocolate at the road side rest areas...
I agree with Wolfie, it's too bad you met Sid first, You'll never come out and play...

Someone should tell him the story of the "Sid Seat". I cannot since I only heard it second hand. Something about hooking a rope to the roll bar and pulling Sid behind sitting on a skate board before Sid got his Cobra. What a sight that must have been. Of course that explains......

All that from an introduction
My favorites were the "bird crap" and the "that's what your car used to look like, but Sid's "weight" reply wasn't too shabby either. We are going to get along fine. Hope to meet all of you soon. Jim
