Chicago-What a beautiful City!!
Hats off to all you guys in the Windy City. My wife and I spent several days over the Labor Day weekend in Chicago and we were so impressed with the cleanliness of the entire city. The friendliness of everyone from the merchants to the bus drivers was impressive. We decided to take the 146 to the Field Museum and Soldier Field on Saturday and caught the bus on the wrong side of Michigan Ave and Ohio, which meant we traveled the "entire" 146 route! I would never have thought a city as large as Chicago could be so clean and friendly. Furthermore, the weather was absolutely beautiful. I hope some of you guys got your Cobra's out for a cruise over the holiday weekend.
We spent several nights at the Doubletree downtown and made our way to all the tourist attractions, restaurants, etc. that we could stand in our short stay. We will be back again so we can catch one of the Cubs or Sox games (sorry about the loss on Sunday to the Phillies). Tickets to the Cubs game were going for $150 or so for $85 face value tickets but that is what happens when you find yourself on top. Hopefully, you guys will get another star on your flag after October!
We had a great time and will be back. Thank you Chicago!!!!

national travellers, aren't we Clois?
we were in St. Louis over the weekend for my niece's wedding. After 4 days driving all over the place, i can say i have a pretty fair understanding of the highway system.
On saturday afternoon, downtown reminded me of Dallas during Texas/Ou weekend. wow!
Missou and Illini. i think Missou won?????
glad you had a good weekend in Chicago- we certainly did in St. Louis.

I lived in 'Bocachita" Broken Arrow as we called it then and the Tulsa area for 5 years in the early 80s and enjoyed it quite a bit. Lots of people don't realize how cultural and beautiful a city you have in Tulsa and surrounding areas. Thanks for the kudos about Chicago. It is a great city and you were just plain lucky on the weather.
I regret that Kristen is correct about the loss to Missouri 52/42. Frankly it would have been an upset if we had won since the rankings are 6/20. Must have been pretty exciting if compared to a Red River Shootout! Both teams with over 100 years now of playing each other has a lot of history.
What could be better than a Chicago World Series? Go Cubs Go! This is the year!

Thanks Jeff,
If I had only known I was on a lucky streak I would have bought a lottery ticket but it was only at 8 million.

Luck has nothing to do with it.
It's been like that all summer. In fact, this year the highest it's been was 91 degrees, for like one day.
Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Very cool/wet spring and cool/dry summer with very little rain for August and now looks like rain all week with highs in the 60s. This year has been kinda tough to get 3 good days in a row. I dunno...seems lucky to me.
