Aren't those the special weather conditions that make those turbo buicks run so fast?

As much as I'd love to come out and spank a few blue cobra's with my ugly 302 -- I'm actually happy to say that my car finally out being painted. Nevertheless, Chris I'll be there tomorrow to watch Steno and the other red cobra's "open a can" on your ass!

Bob,
Al, Sten and I are not planning on going to breakfast, and Eric is coming in from Bloomington. Nobody else has commited to coming.............So, I would say probably not. But if anybody is driving in on RT. 72 there is a nice little family restaurant on the South side of the street just before you go under the railroad tracks.

What a great day. Although I didn't run my car it was fun to watch the remainder of the group run theirs. And congrats. to Eric on the amazing 10.6. That's a fantastic run on only the 2nd attempt. A very enjoyable day and a great excuse to log a 288 mile trip!

Barbie Neely was out of town so Buddy and I stole the keys to her Cobra and took it out to Byron. I drove twice, and Buddy drove once. The best time we got was 10.79 on the rev limiter. I guess it’s a case of a 10 second car with 12 second drivers. Anyway, we had fun, and congratulations to Eric for his 10.6 run. We’ll let Barbie know that she has something to shoot for at the next Byron outing.

How come all the guys that spoke up before the drags are so silent after the drags?
On drag days we need a good reporter and photographer.

We all need to borrow a skirt from Sid & wear it at least once in public to acknowledge the new kings of the strip. Elevens are now like 12's. The bar has been officially raised. Just think how fast those guys will be if they got serious.
My small block has been officially put in it's place
The turbos need more boost (a lot)
The other pretenders (427Ws) have been exposed as only posers
Al of course could get there with a proper set of tires
We need, of course, to change this to dial ins as the big guys just moved past our power horizon.
Sid - do you have enough skirts for us all?

Wow, what a great day for racing and the new speed demons. Especially for Lipstick obviously getting things sorted out. Nice job Eric. I'll bet there is lower times to be had from Barb's car. It's the scariest car I have ever riden in. All hail the new king of the strip and a perty one too. I guess its time for Mike, Chris and some of the other mid 11 second guys to move over. Nice job hooking up for a 12 something run on a stock 302 Sten.
What times did the rest of the group do? Chris?
Any pictures?
