Smile WCCC's new club website...

How come I only see 8 people signed up on the new WCCC's club members website on Yahoo ??? Doesn't even look like all 5 club Directors (?) are registered yet? I know there were at least 30+ members at the Holiday party that know about it...Summers coming everyone, heck it's almost 10 degrees outside right now...so start sending the club leadership emails and inquire about our new club website...Just title the subject line of the 5 emails to Sid, Chris, Mark, Rich and Mike with the following attention getting opening line: "HEY...WHAT GIVES GUYS?" then fake the rest of the email from there, they'll get the point. I also suggest everyone uses their real name (maybe their first name & last inital) so its not difficult for the less conmputer literate members to follow along...and easier to use for everyone...
edit:
hehehehehe.......

Blas,

Don't get your panties in a bunch..........

We were waiting a week or so from the party to make the invite out!

There were not enough paid dues at the time of the party. Maybe 20 or so.
Out of the 60-90 members that we had last year (don't know the exact #) only 40 or so have paid their dues to date.

Sid and I are meeting this weekend to send out the invite.

Thanks for caring so much!

Chris and Sid, I will send you and e-mail so you do not feel unloved.

I do not remember seeing anything for dues, unless it was attached to the Holiday invite that I did not pay to much attention to because pick one that applies a) I was not sure of my availability during that time period. b) All of the hubub about the lack of planning for the Holiday party. c) The apparent or perceived lack of planning for the Holiday party. d) The location that was closer to the Milwaukee Cobra Club e) all of the above.

For the sake of whoever took on the task of maintaing the new website, I it is 100% self maintaining. To be honest, this forum seems to be the place that this group likes to communicate most.

I think that one of the most successful events for WCCC revolved around semi last minute planning of hey, I am going to be at XYZ, anyone want to join me for breakfast and enjoy that fine smell of the mix of exhaust and fresh air. Many of our firsts were the best because they were somewhat impromptu. Don't get me wrong, planning is great, and definately required in most instances. There is a certain somebody in this group that overplanned and overprepared for a trip from Chicago to London Ohio. A trip that many had made individually or in smaller groups at least once in the previous years. In the end, this pursons planning managed to keep a large group of people together along a long route. There were breakdowns, some split offs, some misqueued fuel stops, but we were all able to keep together with the planning. Without the anal retentive planning of a certain fine gentleman, would we have all made it to our destination in back eventually. Yes. Would it have been more miserable or costly for some? Certainly. One of the keys was that there was a general plan, and plans on how to deviate from it as well.

In any event, I look forward to seeing some old and new friends on the road in the summer (and maybe in a vehicle with four wheels indoors sooner). If anyone happens to be cruising through the South Burbs drop a line on here. I would be happy to put a Yellow target in front of you to follow (once I fix my clutch and work through the pile of hard wood floor that has the Cobra boxed in). Remember, it's about the car, the drive and the friends and family, and all will work out in the end!

One edit...

The Calender is public but only to Yahoo IDs. Hmm...I'll see what we can do about this.

Using your link, Sid ,I got to the Yahoo area for WCCC. However, it seems I would have to register to get to the actual site. Is that correct?

Yahoo wants me to sign up for an e-mail account to register. I have g-mail at home and e-mail at work. I do not want another e-mail account to keep track of. For now I plan to hang out here and my g-mail which is on the WCCC member list.

Maybe I am wrong about the Yahoo account, but some of us just want to keep it as simple as possible. Meaning I may not be a computer literate as some others.

What invite to members who have paid the dues???? Our dues were sent in a few weeks ago.

Lee

Bob that is a fantastic question!

Why Yahoo Groups? Well lets look at all the tasks the Yahoo Groups can do for the club and the directors. It is a tool that we can use. And as you know we can always you another tool.

First of all you can have one email address to email the ENTIRE CLUB and each member doesn't have to worry about keeping a seperate spreadsheet of email addresses. And there is no need to email the entire club to "please add xyz person to your email list" Why make the entire club do such tasks?

Secondly photographs can be added and you can create albums for everyone to view. Unlimited space to post pictures for guys like Wolf and John.

Thirdly there is the wonderful calander! Why so wonderful Sid?

Well I'm glad you asked! It will AUTOMATICALLY remind the members of the upcoming event. You can input all the information of event EVEN AN ADDRESS of the event location! Isn't that Lovey? Personally I like it because now I don't have to send out emails reminding the EVENT SPONSOR to check up on them. This is the best part! If they miss their own event we get to do more trash talking!

Ok Bob I got to rib you a little bit! This is all in fun so don't get all girly on me!
You know we did do a presentation during the Holiday Party which was ON A SUNDAY! I did that just for you. Thats how much I care. So all you folks that may have been wondering why Sunday? Now you know. Feel free to email Bob. Heeheehee!

Also Bob if you are having trouble navigating the yahoogroup site I complete understand. It was a little hard for me too. just ask I'll gladly walk you through it. And that goes for the entire club.

I signed up 15 min ago. As above, the last thing I need is another e-mail address to check. Let's see how long this takes. I'll post something when I'm allowed in.

love having a blackberry! You can set it up so the emails go to an account you normally use. For example I have all the WCCC emails go to my Gmail account.

OK Sid , you must understand you are dragging me into the new age kicking and screaming into the real world of modern tec--knowledge and I suffer from tec- NO - knowledge . I have points in my ignition , push rods in my motor and cable driven speedometer and I like it that way.
