Like Fat Bastard says in Austin Powers, "everyone likes his own brand best". But I don't think he was alluding to cars....lol.

True, True...
I use compressed air to blow the dust under the rubber, it works well. If I ordered a CSX I would have to try and not have them glue the rubber.

So your car started in Poland, went to Utah, then BACK to South Africa, then to Irvine and then Las Vegas????? Your car might be the most traveled CSX but no mileage on the odometer to prove it.
|
Hi Dean, No, The body and frame went from Poland directly to South Africa, then on to Irvine and finally to Las Vegas, where I picked it up.

Was it painted Mercedes silver? If so, then it was probably the same car. Lance talked about the paint being a special order. Very nice car BTW.

Thanks, yes, that's the on. It was Mercedes silver. After I got the car, I saw an original 427 street car at Canepa Designs in Scotts Valley. It was a dark non-metallic blue and it was love at first sight...so I had it repainted.

GUNNAR - Is this the car? I saw it at Canepa during our "End of Summer Run" and thought the color was fantastic. Please post some pics of your car.

Both are great cars though.

I have a Hi-Tech produced CSX 4000; and the rubber on the windshield is not glued to the body.

Yes, that is the one. I just thought the color was great and since the engine wasn't in my car yet I thought it would be the best time to do the color change. Bruce gave me a painted panel for the color match. I also did the black, actually very dark grey wheels and polished the spinners. I have read on the board that several people don't care for the black wheels, but I liked the stealth look, so I went with them.
I just had the KC 482 CSX engine installed and will post some photos soon.

I never saw both CSX and Superformance side by side. I think that the Superformance version has a tightened arc around the rear wheel. Looks a bit better IMHO.

That's correct. The trailing edge of the CSX wheel well tends to flair toward the rear of the car. Interesting point/counterpoint here, as I own an SPF but prefer the look of the CSX once I saw both cars side by side. The CSX shape just looks a little more "genuine" (like the ERA and Kirkham. Again, it's all personal perception.). Even still, 99.99% of Joe Public can't tell the difference so unless I win the Lotto I'll just remain content.

That's going to look awesome GUNNAR! I stopped in my tracks when I saw the color of that car at Canepa. Can't wait to see it in person.
