Byron Helmut? Any specific kind needed
Dumb question, but what kind of helmut do I need? Does it need face visor, chin covering or anything else?

I've not been to a track that questioned the style (full, half, visor, non-visor) of my helmet. But, I have been told that a motorcycle helmet was NOT acceptable because it didn't meet the fire standards that an auto helmet does. i.e. they were fine with a really cheap car helmet, but not a very expensive bike helmet. (I bet it doesn't matter at all at Byron.......)

I can't make it to Byron this weekend, but I do have a car helmet to lend if you're near Bartlett (or I can bring it to Fuddruckers tomorrow)

borrow
I might take you up on that offer. I am very close to Bartlett, but won't be at Fuddruckers. Can you send me you address in a private message?
Or, maybe you can tell me where to by one. I went to the Harley Dealership on Randall and they could not tell me anything about racing helmuts for drag racing, whether it be for motorcycles or cars. I really don't know where to begin.

They really dont care too much, a full face helmet is good.
If you don't plan on racing much then borrow someone's motorcycle helmet.
OR follows jerry's advice if you plan on using a lot.
They don't even require arm restaints at Byron for our cars.
Some tracks do i.e.; Great Lakes Dragway
However a long sleeve shirt or jacket, and closed shoes, are required.
See picture above

Thanks Jerry
Jerry, I am going to pass on the space man helmut suggested above and go with your suggestion. If that doesn't work, I may borrow one.
Thanks

I am enjoying the 105 degree weather here in sunny Arizona!
Going on an "Ice-cream" run with the AZ Cobra guys in the morning, it's supposed to be hitting the same temps Saturday.
Hope yus guys take some video and lots of pictures at the drag strip tomorrow.
Will be towing my car back the first week of June for the summer.
