Road America "KIC" 2009
There is a lot of talk over on GT40s.com about the upcoming event at Road America because of the GT40 being the featured marque this year. I have attempted to explain the benefits of hanging out with the Windy City Cobra guys but perhaps a word from youse guys would help. I think it would be fun to join the groupd together and have the GT40 guys see what Northern Hospitality is all about.
The thread is here:
http://www.gt40s.com/forum/worldwide...america-7.html
What do you think ?
I hope youse guys are coming this year !

Johan, we have it on our club agenda to make the annual trip to RA this year. Rich, our head brisquet chef and organizer for this event will surely pop in on this thread and voice his comments soon.
I"m currently enjoying driving with the Arizona Cobra guys. Tomorrow, Saturday, we have a 200 mile breakfast run in 105 degree temps.
See ya in July!

Johan,
Love the pix you posted over on the GT 40 site. Elkhart Lake was always a fun trip for us when I was living in Wis.
What are you planning on taking? GT 40, Cobra, (or let's see) which one of the Lolas? OR - Maybe ALL of the above.
You ever get over towards Cashiers???? We hardly get over your way - seems we are always doing the Fla trips in a hurry - so we try to avoid Hotlanta.

I wen't to the Elkhart Lake site and there was not a good description of the event. Is this a regular rase event our a vintage event? Are Cobras welcome?
Is there a chance to get track time? It looked like a lot of Ford and Mustang activity. How are the replicas recieved? Great track in a nice area, would love to see the GT -40s and what a great drive in the Cobra.

It is perhaps the biggest vintage race in the US.

No chance for track time at this event but it will be a great place to see some awesome cars and hang out with your friends.

I wish you guys would go over to the GT40s website and introduce yourselves. Lots of the GT40 guys are coming and I have been hoping that you will welcome them to hang out with you at turn 5.
I am happy to buy some food to try to have some sort of beakfast or lunch on Friday or Saturday. Will the cooking equipment be there ? Are the GT40 guys welcome to come over ?

I know you are the host with the most but I need help steering the GT40 guys in the right direction. They are new to the scene up at Road America and a word from you over on the other forum would sure be a big help. I'm happy to spring for all the bacon and eggs etc. but these guys just need an official invite.

Johan, will get over to that site shortly, once I know more info to give them about the breakfasts. I just need to get a thread out to our guys to find out how many of them will be there, they have a Wisconsin 3-day event scheduled the following weekend, so we'll have to find out how many will make it to KIC.
It's just a matter to see how many of our guys will show up and what day Rich, the head hancho for the event, will show up.

Saturday is better than Sunday because people, especially the race teams, are packing up to go home. Yes they run the races Sunday but the qualifying races Saturday are better and in a better atmosphere.

They're all good, that's why I go 4 days! The Friday evening parade into Elkhart Lake is a fun evening and I agree with Johan, Saturday has the most to see. Especially walking through the pits.
