Inner Exhaust for side pipes.

Took me 6 hours and 3 broken screw drivers to manually extrude every single hole. One done and one to go.

Arntz / Butler door

This is the final version of the Arntz / Butler door. The inner and outer fibreglass panels conceal a 2 x 4 x 0.120 wall steel tube for crash protection and rigidity. A VW door latch, striker and handle let you in and out. A plate is welded on the front, to which the hinges bolt and adjust. The hinges are press formed from 1.5 x 0.5 solid steel bar and swing on delrin bushes. Unique to the Arntz Type 4 are the Mercedes door pin and socket (just above the latch) that solidly ties the door to the rest of the cage surrounding the passenger compartment.

Shell Valley build

We're back working on getting the doors, hood, and trunk lid to fit. We had to grind half of the inner door structure to get it to fit. Now we need to do some fiberglassing to make the door structurally sound.

Shell Valley build

The hood was bowed and warped so badly that we had to cut slots in the inner panel, fill with foam, and then add weight to level out the passenger's side. After the foam hardened, we put a layer of glass over the cuts and added weight again.

Here's the hood after we straightened it and put the first layer of glass cloth on the inner panel.

Driver inner door

I poured and shaped the foam. Once I finish the passanger side and smooth the dash....then fiberglass work starts.

Driver side inner door

This is the proposed pattern I am thinking about. The blue part will painted to match the car...the black will be carpeted to match the floor.

passenger side inner door

This a different proposed pattern I am considering. Again the black will carpeted to match the floor and the blue would be painted to match the car.

Frame tip

This is the front right frame tip of my E.M. chassis. I am a little confused as to what the inner bracket is for.
