First day on the dyno yielded an education on why 160lb/hr injectors can't be made to have street manners. However, they do work well off idle and above cruise conditions, and a pull to 5000rpm with 16deg total advance and 11:1 AFR yielded 600rwhp and 600ft-lbs of torque having not yet reached peak torque yet. If I had to guess, I'd say peak torque will be at about 5500 and peak power will be at about 6900...but time will tell. The 83's are on order and when they arrive it should tune without incident. The goal is 800rwhp conservatively tuned; and by the looks of this...I have a shot at it. It's only a 7.8:1 compression engine...it should take about 24-28deg of spark up top on 91 octane (10 more degrees of spark), and rule of thumb is 8-13hp per degree in this range. 700ish ft-lbs and 800-850hp by 7K on pump gas anyone? We'll see.
