3/1/7 - thanks everyone. Car is SOLD.
The time has come to downsize my investment in toys. With 2 kids coming up for college on the horizon I am making some financial planning changes, so I am offering ERA 601 for sale - $51900.00. You won’t build it for this, plus no wait time. Affectionately known as the “DEA ERA” by some, I have been entrusted with the care of 601 since February of 2004.
Its provenance is well known. Originally commissioned August 16, 2000 to be built with the factory-bonded chassis, the car was produced by ERA in 2001. It was driven fewer than 1800 miles by the original owner. The second “owner” didn’t put many miles on it - … lets just say Uncle Sam is not a big Cobra fan, and the car sat indoors for the better part of 2 years while they determined its disposition. That is when I bought it, and titled it in 2004 in NJ as a 2001 Replica.
601 is new enough to have the majority of the desirable ERA continuous updates - click here, and scroll down over the years up to car #600. The car has all the normal features – Email with any specific questions not addressed below: Luke-44AtComcastDotNet. I will help coordinate shipment overseas if desired.
- Mileage: about 2700
- Correctly NJ titled as a 2001 ERA. No title wash concerns.
- 428CJ motor – freshly built by Danbury Competition Motors – (an ERA recommended builder) with all the good stuff - see pix to get a general idea. Contact me for a build sheet with specific details.
601 has also been featured in a few “how to” articles on Club Cobra. Probably the most valuable documented the installation of its rare upgraded ERA aluminum engine bay . This awesome (and not cheap or easy) upgrade was the subject of a Club Cobra full technical “how to” article – click HERE for all the details.
Besides the porting and polishing done by Danbury for extra horsepower, the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads were also modified for improved oil flow, as outlined in this Club Cobra posting HERE.
And, finally, another tech article on Club Cobra about how the FinishLine license plate bracket was installed, for what its worth…….. Anyway, back to the car….
- 4 speed top loader with Lakewood scattershield
- ERA IRS rear end setup - inboard disc brakes, double shocks.
- 2 SETS of wheels. Wheels on car now are ERA bolt-on’s, although they fool 9 out 10 people. 6 pin brand new Trigos also included. ($2k stock ERA hubs needed to mount them, after which you could sell the bolt-on pieces if you wanted to).
- Interior – leather.
- Car cover, tonneau top, soft-top and side curtains are all included. (Soft top/curtains are brand new – never mounted).
- Numerous extras such as full chrome bumpers and bars, wind wings & visors, Lucas PL’s, deep cycle Optima battery.
- All build documentation.
See pix below plus more at higher resolution in my gallery.
The rear suspension pic (below) is complements of ERA…
