Description: Mini starter for 390/437 FE. New at the time of my Kirkham build (4 years ago?). Was used with the engine on the dyno, and in the car long enough to find out that it would not work with my MSD ignition system. It was removed and placed on the shelf at that time. The price at the time was ~ $265. Additional pictures in my gallery.

Price lowered to $165.

Thanks, Ron

Sorry, just curious

Turns out that them MSD requires a certain rpm to trigger the signal. A mini starter just doesn't turn fast enough . It worked fine with standard ignitions, just not my Digital 6.

I was very interested in the sale but I would have the same problem as I also have the MSD6.
Did you end up using the POWERMASTER starter?
Thanks, Ralph

Long story short, the typical pickup that the MSD digital 6 uses requires that the engine turn faster than the mini-starter would turn it. I'm now using a starndard, off the shelf powermaster, and haven't had a problem since. I don't know, but I suspect that any MSD that is using the same sensor (within the dizzy), would have the same problem. If you are using a different pickup, you may be OK.

Absolutely, you need THIS starter....Actually, if your headers are anything like stock, you would be just fine with a normal starter. I was going to use it because of it's light weight, that's all.

Yep, still for sale.

Any takers at $165? If not, I may keep it, I just happen to have another big block sitting in my garage.
