Description:

Hi, my name is Gene
In late 2006 I purchased a 1989 Mustang GT and a FFR Cobra assembly manual in hopes of one day completing my own Cobra. I completely disassembled the mustang keeping all of the required parts for the build. Unfortunately life has other plans for me and I need to abandon my dream (for now anyway) of building my own Cobra. I hope I can help some else complete their dream car. So what I have is a complete donor car’s worth of parts that are in my garage and need to go. I would hate to send them to the junkyard but that will be the next step.
The items I did not keep were;
- the radiator did not look so hot
- front lower a-arms I was going to use FF
- front brakes were given to a friend for his 5.0, I was going with bigger anyway and I needed 5 lug rotors
- gas tank I was going with a fuel cell
- wheels I was going to use aftermarket
- solid axel rear end (I gave it to someone on another forum) I then procured a complete IRS from a T-Bird so I have all of the necessary parts for that as well.
Here is the status of the big items;
5.0 engine is disassembled and ready for a rebuild. I did not take the block to the machine shop but it looks like a cleanup and de-glaze the cylinders and it is ready to go back together. The pistons, crank, & cam looks to be in good condition and the heads would need a valve job (they are GT heads) but I was going to go with aftermarket heads.
Transmission is a 5spd (T5) that shifted smoothly in all gears and made no noise. I drove the car 50 miles when I bought it to make sure everything was in good working order.
IRS; the differential (Cast Iron not Al) is disassembled and ready for a clean & rebuild. I also purchased a 3:55 ring & pinion that goes with it as well. The hubs have been pressed apart and are ready to be drilled & cleaned. You will need to purchase new bearings and bushings (FF sells them).
Rear brakes, the calipers are disassembled and ready for a clean & rebuild.
Asking price $500 OBO!!! From what I have heard you can buy all of this stuff from a junkyard on a palette for way more than what I am asking and that doesn’t include the IRS. I would like to sell everything together but I will separate if I have to. I would rather give this stuff away that throw it away.
So to recap, I have everything you need for your build unless otherwise mentioned above at a price that you can’t beat. The parts must be picked up from my house in Cockeysville, MD 21030. You can PM me I will try to check daily or please email me if you have any questions 59gene@comcast.net. Thanks for reading and good luck with your dream.

You might want to consider posting this on the www.ffcobra.com classified section.
