Description:
|
Unfortunate and very serious health issues have forced me to cancel my project as it was originally designed to be built. As many of you know, the guys here on Club Cobra have been nothing short of incredible in trying to help me get this car done. However, building it with this awesome engine is out of the question financially now that I've been struck with this disease.
The following engine was built by Tony Carey on Long Island, NY. It has been broken in on a test fixture but never installed in a car. It's fresh and ready to go. I spared absolutely no expense in building this engine, it truly does have the best of everything on it and in it. I have to get the complete build sheet yet from Tony, but this description will cover the high points, I'll add the micro details as they become available to me from Tony. Once I figure out how to post pictures, I'll do that as well. Tony also photo documented the entire build. That would be available to any potential buyer. Tony has been building almost exclusively FE's for 40 years, he's the FE guru here in the NY area. He's a preferred engine builder for ERA Cobras as well. Some of the guys here on the forum who have been around a while are familiar with him. ERA is very familiar with him as well. If you're waiting on that ERA, Kirkham, Shelby, Hurricane, SPF, or whatever brand you chose Cobra or GT40 to be delivered, this is your engine!

There's probably lots more on this engine that doesn't come to mind right now, but this is the high points of it. There was tons of custom work done on this engine to give it a very original looking flavor. I would never sell it except I am now facing very serious health issues and can no longer proceed forward with the project as planned. The engine is currently at Tony's shop on Long Island, NY. Again, it's fresh, never installed, and is has never left his shop. It's been run only on his run in fixture. I heard it run today for the first time and it made my hair stand on end. It breaks my heart to see it go, it's everything I wanted it to me and so much more, but that's life. It has to go.
This engine was not dynoed, but Keith Craft, who supplied most of the engine parts, builds this combo often and he informed me back at purchase time that with the combo of parts that he sold me it routinely dynos over 620HP.
I lost track as I shot past the $20,000 mark of how much I have sunk into this engine, it's actually well north of that. Believe me, I realize that I won't get my money back on it. Quite honestly I don't know what to ask for it. I know it drives some of you guys nuts when items are put up for sale without prices, but I truly don't know. This health issue has come up and I need to sell this engine. I can't go forward with this, so it's for sale. If anyone is interested please contact me. Email is best since I spend lots of time in treatment and many times I can't answer my phone. Email me at DMarotta737@Gmail.com. I monitor my email regularly, so I should get back to you within the day. I don't want to drive Tony crazy with lots of questions from those with only curiosity or casual interest. That wouldn't be right to do to him. For those who are truly interested in the engine Tony will make himself available for questions and inspection of the engine. Thank you all for looking and for your understanding.
This engine is available immediately, and it's ready to go. It was designed and built for a Cobra, with originality and awe inspiring performance in mind.
