It's a 9" solid axle Lee. If you look closely, you'll see the mount for the Panhard bar.
You can switch it to IRS as Hurricane's IRS is self-contained and will bolt in with a couple mods. That's what I've done.

Lee, LMH is right. Hurricane offers that option and the frame is designed to accept the IRS setup at a later date if you so desired. That was my reasoning when I ordered HM1029. Straight axles work fine in these replicas unless you want to seriosly race your car. I dorve #98 and I couldn't tell the difference on the street.
