Description:

I'm a new member but have browsed clubcobra for a many years. My name is Gary and I live in Hudsonville MI with my wife and two sons. We’re building a 1933 Speedstar and I purchased a Six Shooter intake from a friend in CO. I just had the intake coated by Jet Hot and will include the receipt for warranty purposes. The carbs are jetted for higher altitude and will need rejetting if you're at a lower altitude.
I absolutely love the looks of this intake…and I was so bummed when the shop working on my car called last Friday. After lowering then engine a bit, the front carb is too tall and the hood will not fit. So, I’m going to go with a single carb boring intake and custom air cleaner. Included is the intake, arp studs, carbs, linkage, and Cobra air cleaner. Local buyers are welcome to check it out anytime.
Thanks,
Gary

Why not machine the intake down a bit at the top where the carbs bolt to.
Its been done many times.

Thanks! I"ll look into this.
It's about an inch too tall with no air cleaner so it would require a fair amount of machining. If this works, I would love to keep this intake!

You may loose a bit of bottom end torque but shouldnt make much of difference because from the picture of car, looks to be under 2500lbs

I stopped by the shop and it looks like you can mill the intake and lower the front carb about .75". They said they can lower the engine another inch but it's going to be too tight with an air cleaner.
