Description: 1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE
This fine Bird is my best friends car (now deceased). I am selling for his widow.
This 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible is really something to see! As a matter of fact, it is nearly impossible to miss! Painted in correct white, with new white convertible top and red with white inserts (custom) interior.
Photos can be found here:

It presents a striking example of American cars when they were at their best! As one of the most recognizable icons of the fabulous fifties, this car was getting thumbs up from everybody. These small bodied Thunderbirds were only made for three years, from 1955 to 1957, with the last year being considered especially desirable by most collectors.
This T-Bird runs very well and strong. The engine compartment is 99% correct. The numbers matching 312 runs smooth and purrs. It starts right up even after long storage period. The automatic transmission is smooth and flawless
This Bird is a southern car most of its life. Originally from Colorado where it spent its life until 8 years ago when it was bought and moved to Michigan where it was stored in climate control garage and only used for Sunday drives and car events.
The owner was an expert with Birds. He previously owned a 100 point 57 and bought this car to drive.
It was recently inspected by a local Bird historian and did a complete walk-around. Very few bits are not authentic.
I drove the car 50 miles to my house where I will do a complete detail. But frankly not much needs to be done but I want to spiff it up.
In terms of overall condition:
• Interior is perfect – no wear, no rips.
• The glass is perfect – no chips or scratches.
• Top is new
• Tires are newer Cooker replicas. The Wheels are aftermarket wire wheels that are perfect.
• The undercarriage shows no rust, all surfaces painted, as they should be. It did see a drip from the transmission.
• The body and seems are straight and no dings, dents, waves.
• The paint I would say is 95%. There are 2-3 chips that were touched up. No stone chips or scratches. I did find one paint bubble. The person who inspected the car indicated that it is in a place that does not rust so likely surface. The paint is acrylic enamel.
• The chrome is perfect with deep clear shine.
• The overall car has tremendous originality with even the trunk area completed with trim, spare, jack and lug wrench.
• The restoration is “older”. Complete pictures available of the restoration which was done in Colorado.
• This Bird has power steering and manual brakes.
• It has an aftermarket radio. The only bit that does not work is the clock.
The extras:
• All receipts
• Documentation from the original owner along with original window sticker and purchase receipt.
• Many manuals, restoration guides and documentation.
• Car cover.
• Tonneu cover (new never fitted)
The Bird is located in Harrison Township Michigan. I have a lift so it can be fully inspected.
Also happy to take more photos and do a skype live video walk around.
$39,000 or best offer. Sold As is, Where is.

Hard Top? Real Wire Wheels? 312 or 292 engine?

Hi there,

It is a number matching 312. Unfortunately the hardtop was sold by the previous owner. They are not the factory wire wheels. I believe they are made by true-spoke.

Thanks.
