Description:

Autokraft MK IV number AK 1066 built in 1985 with extensive modifications so as to be more like a MK III car. To be clear, this is an Aluminum bodied, (NOT fiberglass), Built in the UK Autokraft car. First, the price is firm, and I do not want to waste anyone else's time, or my own. I am not asking 80 to get 70, etc. I try to price anything I sell realistically and my best price is upfront. I am a no haggle kind of guy. If you think this is too high, I understand, and good luck (sincerely!) in finding your car at your price ! Enough about that....I have owned the car for only a short time, and learned much about Cobras, as this is my first. I always wanted an AC car, or possibly a Kirkham as it had to be aluminum for me. Car has 12,600 miles. They are documented through the car's ownership history, which I have in its entirety. Original owner had the car for 8,000 miles. Color is Midnight Blue Metallic, (original) and is in good condition. Beginning to crack some around the hood scoop, and edge of hood, which is the first place I often see the paint go. (The car was missing some of the rubber hood bumpers, and I am replaced them today...that may have contributed to the cracking paint). When the car had fairly low miles, the factory Ford 5.0 failed. The original owner replaced it with a 322 inch SVO making approximately 400 HP. It has aluminum Ford SVO heads, an SVO "A4" block with 4 bolt main bearings, Crower forged stroker crankshaft, Crower forged Rods, Wiseco Aluminum pistons, Le Mans profile camshaft, 4 Weber 48 IDA's, MSD ignition, Jet-Hot ceramic coated headers, Polished Stainless Steel Side-Pipes, Aluminum Front Drive Pulleys, and a 7 quart Canton oil pan. Rear end is running 3.77s and that seems about perfect for this engine and the BW T-5 tranny. Halibrand style aluminum wheels with spinners, Spax externally adjustable coil over shocks, Cobra S/C style dashboard with Smith gauges, original reversed style Mustang shifter found in the MK III's, original style Wood Rimmed steering wheel w/AC logo and original style AC inscribed foot pedals. Heater and Defroster DELETED, again, in keeping with the earlier style cars. Engine builds revs instantaneously. My next car will also be a small block! Selling only because my space is tight, and as a result I would prefer a car without sidepipes. More and better pictures soon. This is as the car appeared when I purchased the above car, and it has not changed externally one iota. The Dealer makes NO warranties as to these being accurate, nor are they in any way responsible for my car today. They are posted only until I take some of my own. Car has only 200 more miles than when the above were taken. Car is currently in shop getting the Webers fine-tuned, (via help from Jim Inglese) having the missing rubber hood bumpers replaced, and a dash light bulb for the Smith Tachometer replaced. Have the canvas top, side curtains and tonneau cover. If interested, you may contact me via Griffbl@me.com Clear Texas title. The previous chain of title had this titled as a 1965 year model car, which is therefore what the State of Texas says on my title, even though we all know it was built in 1985! Oh well, that could be an advantage for some venues. I have addressed everything I know to address. Car is solid. I would buy another AK for what it is worth! Thank you for your interest, and to all on the site who helped me with the Webers, etc.!

With all due respect sir, and since you stated that you are just learning about these cars, I would suggest that the price is over double the value or more. Best of luck to you Sir.

A very competitive price for an aluminium bodied AC. Outside the US, these cars were legally titled as 'Cobras' and currently fetch a great deal more than $80k in the UK.

That is a fair price for a real AC aluminum bodied Cobra. I just purchased an AC Mk IV and paid close to this. As mentioned in prior post, they go for more in the U.K. A bargain here in the U.S. for a factory built car by Autokraft which at the time was licensed by AC to build these as AC cars and eventually came to own AC outright.

That's the right price range. I just sold my AC Autokraft for a little more than that.

Unbelievable that there are people on this forum, namely from the first two posts in response to my ad, that know so little about these cars. Aluminum, not fiberglass, etc. I priced this car at the LOW end of where they have been trading! And I did consult and reference RECENT sales of these exact cars before posting. Thanks for backing me up Mark, and congrats on your sale! That Dingman car was interesting, but not that interesting! (at least to me) One never knows what might happen at auction. Thanks for everyone's help and assistance.
