1965 Ford Cobra replica
Located in San Rafael, California
Construction of the car was completed in 1997. It is a Butler Cobra with a '66 427 "side-oiler" FE Ford engine. The engine was built by Nick Recina of Bayshore Engine Builders located in San Francisco. (Some of you rodders may remember Nick as a champion sprint car driver and builder) The following are some of the car specifications....
Independent 4 wheel suspension with disc brakes and a Jaguar rear-end, Forged steel crankshaft and flywheel, Comp roller camshaft, solid roller lifters, custom stainless roller rockers and stands, MSD ignition, distributor and 6AL box, Single Holley 750 dbl pumper with mechanical secondary's and a Holley mechanical fuel pump, Tremec 3550 5-speed manual transmission, Lakewood bell housing, Weber hydraulic throw-out bearing and heavy duty performance clutch assembly, Engine oil cooler, Compomotive wheels 15X10 front 15X12 rear with BF Goodrich radial tires, Burgundy leather upholstery, Crow 5 point safety restraints, Tonneau cover.
The car has a total of just over 10k miles on it with only 4,700 miles on the '66 "side-oiler". This Cobra is in excellent condition and has been meticulously maintained by it's single owner.
