I am selling my MidStates cobra. I have built this from ground up. It holds a Washington State title for a 1966 AC 427 Cobra R,. The car has all new items except a rebuilt 9-inch center section. I have photos on the build process including the inter-workings on the motor. Car has a weight distribution of 52% rear, 48% front, car weight is 2150 lbs car has been balances and the ride height is 4.75 inches on 15-inch tires.
Car includes:
Front suspension
• SPC upper and lower adjustable control arms
• New upper and lower ball joints
• Corvette front , rotors, bearings, seals calipers and stainless steel lines mounted on mustang II spindles
• Front coilovers spring rate 325 lbs.
• All stainless steel brake lines with AN-fittings (37 degree)
• Front tires are 245 60 15’s
Rear suspension
• Nine inch Ford rear end with a four-link setup with adjustable rods with hime joints.
• Center section, 373 gears, new bearings, and seals
• Wilwood brakes and rotors with rotor hat section e-brake, all stainless steel lines
• Alden Eagles coilovers with 275 lb springs
• Rear tires are 295 50 15’s
Power plant
• Ford 5.0 fuel injection with a B-303 Ford racing cam and lifters
o Running temps are 190 water and 220 oil in 95 degree weather
o 195 water temp sensor mounted in the heads and not the radiator!
• All sensors have been removed except the O2’s which are located in the collectors
• Installed an EGR by-pass sensor (closed loop)
• Motor tuned and dynoed by Very Cool Parts (EEC has a chip installed)
• Oil cooler installed lower front with aluminum box
• Large radiator, 4 row, 24 x 32, duel front fans from Finish Line
• Aluminum over flow with AN 37 degree fittings
• Front fans are set at 195 degrees or they have switch on the dash for over ride.
• Additional wiring installed for a rear fan (just in case) but no rear fan
• T-5 transmission with quick shift shifter
• Fuel system has 3/8 line with a holly fuel pump
• Filters are located between tank and pump and pump and motor
• Fuel lines are AN 37 degree flair type
Hydraulic systems
• Wilwood master cylinders front, rear, and clutch
• Cylinders are the compact return spring type, black anodized
• Wilwood proportioning valve installed in the rear brake system
• Bias brake adjuster installed next to driver
• Reservoirs mounted on fire wall
• All stainless steel AN 37 degree flairs and fittings
• Clutch slave is a CNC brand push type, not a pull type
• Wilwood pedals with AC cobra foot pads
Electrical Wiring
• All harnesses are by Ron France including relays, fuse box, and dash
• Gauges are original, speedo is 180 reverse type
• Dash is setup / layout is the 427 street comp.
• Over kill on the grounds:
o Frame to engine
o Battery to frame
o Engine and dash harness to frame and battery
• All wires are marked by numbers with color and a color code schematic I developed (Excel)
• All wiring was wrapped with non-stick black (factory) then covered with wire loom
• Battery is mounted in trunk
Body
• Painted by Unique cobras, dark cherry / maroon with silver stripes
• Unique did all the body work and sheet metal work
• Hood has original style rivet locations along the front and along the scope, 10-32 stainless steel button heads
• Two inch roll bar mounted directly to frame
• Quick jack bumpers
• Five point seat belts, lap is installed
• Carpet in marine boat carpet for wear and tear
• Driver side floor is cut out into the frame for tall guys (I’m 6’2’’)
• Car has been coated heavy with undercoat to prevent spidering (rocks hitting inside fender wells causing paint cracks)
• All 90-degree corners / sharp corners in the fiberglass have been relieved with a radius to prevent stress cracks. Body fiberglass is 3/8” thick
