1965 427SC Cobra E.R.A. Replica
427 S.O.H.C. (Cammer)
ERA #314 is a one-of-a-kind Shelby Cobra replica built for its original owner. This E.R.A. 427 Cobra features a newly refreshed 427 S.O.H.C. (Cammer) with original Ford SOHC cast iron block (correct oil drain-backs), Steel stroker crank, Eagle H-beam rods, and Ross pistons yielding 480 cubic inches. Compression is about 12.5:1. Including RARE ORIGINAL FORD ALUMINUM SOHC HEADS from drag racer Les Ritchey. These heads were only given to a few racers by Ford, so they are exceedingly rare. Recently installed new streetable Comp Cams including new correct lash caps for the non-adjustable rockers. This is critical to the valve train reliability of the Cammer. A single 4V intake with Holley Dominator carburetor. Custom built Top loader transmission by Dan Williams features BIG-Input/BIG-output WIDE-ratio gears, hydraulic slave clutch set-up, competition adjustable suspension, RARE ORIGINAL HALIBRAND MAGNESIUM knock-off wheels (with as-raced patina), fuel cell, dual rear-mounted Optima batteries, Smiths gauges, blacked-out treatment, on-board fire suppression system. Jaguar rear-end with a 3.31:1 ratio.
Extensive planning and engineering has gone into this Cobra's chassis which is displayed by its superb detailing. Special fabrication and installation of the 427 SOHC in the car was done by Bob Frontino San Dimas, CA. It's a balancing act to mount this power plant in a Cobra chassis as witnessed buy the finished results. The engine was built by Performance Associates (of racing heritage, Les Ritchy) in San Dimas, CA. (recently closed shop after 55 years in business). As mentioned before the rare aluminum Cammer heads were Les Ritchy's and purchased from Performance Associates for this build.
The Cobra only has 1,146 pampered street-driven miles (much less on engine) by one owner. Displays surprisingly great street manners. It is a blast to drive with an awesome exhaust note. Body and paint are impeccable! An amazing turn-key sorted out Cobra that cannot be duplicated for the asking price!

Hello,
I have been calling around to several of the Cobra replica builders to install a "cammer" i.e. have one built for me. I joined the site club cobra a few weeks ago and this is the first time I returned since joining. Low and behold what do I find... YOUR CAR!
I am interested, how is this car as far a weight distribution?
How does it drive? Is it front heavy? The rear brakes are inboard yes? It has the 4 shocks on the IRS yes? What other parts are available with tis car? How firm is your price? how many miles are on the engine since it was last built? are there any leaks on the engine? What kind of fuel do you have to run in it? Are the seats leather (forgot if you mentioned this)?
Please get back to me at the following email address:
