Description: Three vintage car magazines with 427 Cobra tests.
1- Sports Car Graphic, Nov. 1965. Jerry Titus and John Christy test two new 427 Cobra's at Riverside race track. One street 427 Cobra and one competition 427 Cobra. Eighteen photo's with seven pages of text. Another article on the 289 hipo anf the various cars that it poweres. Very good almost excellent condition magazine.
2-Popular Hot Rodding, Jan. 1967. They test a new 427 Cobra at Irwindale drag strip. Incredible photo's and text. With ten photo's and six pages this article details how a 427 Cobra can easily turn low 12's in the 1/4 mile. They also describe it's handling and braking capabilities and are highly impressed. A hard to find issue with pricless information. In very good condition.
3- Road & Track, July 1974. An early retrospect article on a 427 Cobra and what it's like to own and drive a true sports car during a time when gas was a very hard to obtain, not to mention the rising fuel price. The author, Tony Hogg, had purchased a used 427 Cobra and relates the trials and tribulations of owning one of the fastest cars made. His Cobra was equipped with dual quads that appear to be Carter carbs on a 427. I don't know if any Cobra's came orriginaly with Carter's but this would be the web site to find out. Outstanding photo's and text. In good condition, tight binding with no loose pages.
These three issues give a wealth of info with many original photo's depicting how these legendary sports cars were built when new. A great oportunity for Shelby litature collectors.
They are curently listed on E-Bay under item #330155676092, Thanks.
