1992 Classic Roadsters Cobra for sale.
My brother & I finished the Cobra in 2005 when our other brother who started the build was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's. When completed, I bought it and drove it on a cross country road trip with my brothers & son - it was the experience of a lifetime. See this video:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...3091&hl=en
What it has:
* 408 CI "Clevor" (Windsor Block, Cleveland Heads) with B/A Clevor Intake Manifold. Should be ~450 - 500 HP but never dynoed
* T-56 6 Speed (New from Ford Motorsport)
* Ford 9" rear end
* Approximately 5000 miles on the drivetain
* Doors modified to look more like normal Cobra doors than the usual Classic Roadsters door style.
* Coil Over shocks. Installed on the back & in the box for the front
* Manual Steering & Brakes
* American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels
* Extra set of wheels with Kumho Comp Tires
What it Needs:
* Speedometer needs to be hooked up
* Quickjacks not installed
* Paint has chips, especially in the front (from the road trip)
* No interior carpet
* Larger coolant reservoir - have tank but not installed.
Runs great, fun, comfortable, and fast at the track. The cobra was incredibly comfortable & reliable on it's maiden 3200 mile cross country break in trip.
Located in the Atlanta area. I can trailer it to new owner unless it is way to far towards the west coast from Atlanta.
Priced for quick sale. If interested then hurry as I suspect that I may change my mind tomorrow.

Do you have a title? If so, what is the year and state on the title?
Thanks,
Howard/entropy

I have a title from Oregon where my brother registered it there. It is signed over to me but I never transfered the title to my name in Georgia because I do not need a title here to drive the car. The titled year is 1965

Mike, what a bittersweet memory you and your brother must have of that Final Road Trip with your brother Dave, knowing that the end was near. I can tell you I have tears in my eyes after watching your great video, I've had a similar experience losing a son.
If you NEED to sell the Cobra do it, if the need is not there, hold onto it for the memories!
Just my 2 cents.

Mike.
Your trip with your brothers was great. I also had tears in my eyes. I had made a trip much the same with my twin brother Woody, from Seattle down the Oregon coast to Cal and back in the summer of 94 and my brother pass on Feb 21 95. I had lost my wife in Feb of 94. I see your from K falls my son Tyler work on the Cascade Chev funny car last years. Good luck to you and your love ones.

Thanks for al of the kind words of advice from everyone. In my heart I know it is time to move on. I will always have the memories plust the videos & pictures. I suspect that my son & I may end up building another kit or maybe fix a car up for him. He is 13 years old now and the "working on your own fun car" "bug" bit him during & after our Cobra cross country road trip. So Deep down I feel that I am letting go of something great, but it may allow us to move forward and make some new memories that would even more special for me & my family.

Andy,
I feel for your losses as well. I took another road trip with by late brother in November of 2004 in his Corvette that is in the video. I flew from Atlanta to LA where he picked me up, then we drove to Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, back to LA, then to Klamath Falls via the Pacific Coast Highway. Top down the whole way. Crossing the mountains near KF at 5000+ feet at midnight, it was 20 degrees, but we there was no way we were going to put the top up for the last 20 miles!!! GREAT memories....
By brother Dan lives west of Klamath in the mountains - what a beautiful & simple place!!!!
Drive On!!!!!!

Great video, god speed to your brother.
I was wondering why the Vette appears faster, does it have NOS or a blower in it? The Cobra should have a better HP per LBS ratio, no?

Pretty car, great story- thanks for sharing.
At $23K it seems like a fantastic deal for someone.
This ad won't be around long, I'll betcha!
Just curious- you guys modded the tunnel to take that shift mechanism, yes?
And the door mod- looks great! Nice touch.

The Cobra is MUCH faster to ~110 MPH or so. After that the aerodynamic advantage of the Vette is pretty astounding. The Vette had some motor work as well so it was pretty strong. From a stop to 100 MPH the Cobra blew the vette into the weeds.

I susepect that at this price it won't last long. I have had several calls and someome is suposed to drop by to look at it today. I just want it to go to a good home. Even with the paint chips and some details left to be completed, it is a great deal. And it runs great and is reliable. No problems in the 3200+ mile shakedown or since then.
And we built it from a pretty basic kit, so there is lots of opportunity to engineer stuff into the car that could break. My late brother was quite the engineer and my other brother is a skilled machinist sho does things right, and so I guess I should not be surprised that it has run flawlessly since be backed it out of hsi shop & onto the road for the first time.
The trans tunnel has a hole in it for the original 4 speed trans & shifter that was originally in the car. When i decided to buy it I wanted an overdrive trans for long road trips, so we bought a new T-56 from Ford and put it in with surprisingly little effrt, other than the shifter location is different. The hole in the fiberglass trans tunnel cover needs to be glassed in before carpet.
I really like the door mods - I think they look a lot better than the way they come from Classic Raodsters. I think the Excalibur (which is really a Classic Raodster Cobra built in Milwaukee) had similar door mods.

Yep, at that price and for what it is- that puppy is a LONG GONE opportunity for someone! It should be SNAPPED UP QUICK! Look for the big SOLD sticker on this listing, real soon.
I am SOOOO tempted. And I'm up here in Dahlonega too- not far.
Making my wife hold me back, I swear.
It'd be an honor to own such a thing, you guys were a class act!
Your road trip- man, that was just too cool for words.

I have been watching the movie a couple more times and it seems other people have been watching it too. Great story, great sound, excellent editing, cool photography... I think "required watching for every car guy"
