Polyurethane FE Motor Mounts for ERA
I am selling 1 pair of Polyurethane motor mounts for an ERA Cobra with FE engine. They also fit 63-64 Ford w/390-428. They are part number 2222 Right and 2223 Left.
These mounts are custom made by starting with new stock type mounts; removing the soft rubber and recasting them in my custom molds with 80A HP Polyurethane. Look at the link from Energy Suspension for the description of the material. http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/diymmi
Most new style motor mounts have a built-in metal feature that will keep the mounts from pulling apart with age. The FE mounts don’t. As an option, I install a bolt thru each mount to make sure it will NOT separate and cause damage. The bolts are left with a small clearance to let the mounts isolate vibration.
If you don't want the safety bolts drilled and installed. Just let me know. I can sell mounts with or without.
I have a had 2 ERA Cobras and both had slight contact to the body with the LH header. The problem is the LH mount stretches (gets longer) under acceleration and the RH mount compresses (gets shorter). You can install the ERA suggested bolt thru the LH mount and fix half of the problem, but you can’t do much with the RH mount. The Polyurethane mounts will fix both problems. They will stretch and compress much less than rubber.
It is suggested that you install a polyurethane transmission mount at the same time. Those are readily available from many sources.
Most Hot Rod guys like to put in polyurethane motor mounts and transmission mounts in their rides. They are NOT available for this Ford application. Here is your chance.
$250 for the pair with shipping included to the lower 48 states.
