Description: this is a jbl competition model cobra replica originally built by larry goins and pictured on the jbl website.

4/2016

Just installed David Vizard/Terry Walters built and dynoed 408 based on a production 351W block. Scat rotating assy, AFR220 heads, Vic Jr intake, Stewart water pump, Jones Racing alternator with belt system, Holley Ultra 750 HP, dynoed at 600+ hp with different carb, ignition system and headers.

Also installed at same time was Liberty Gears upgraded TKO 600 with .82 overdrive with Pro 5.0 shifter, along with new aluminum flywheel, dual compound clutch disc and pressure plate.

Aluminum rear diff w/trac loc 3.55, compomotive rims, michelin pilot sport tires.

sway bars are electrically adjustable, the brake bias is adjustable via a knob located next to the sway bar adjusters.

front suspension is rockerarm type nonparallel unequal length with inboard coilovers, rear suspension sports unequal length non parallel a arms with pull rod actuated coilovers.

purchased with approx. 10,500mi., it now has approx 14,500 but don't know if the original mileage was correct. tires have plenty of tread, engine runs great and does not burn oil, brake pads & rotors in good shape. i have driven 3 hrs. at a time and would not hesitate to drive anywhere, car is very smooth on the hiway.

there is also an apple ipod player hidden under the dash with speakers in the upper front footwells.

any questions ask, do not prefer trades as i'm looking at retirement and can't take all the toys with me. i do have a lift so if you want underside pics i can do that also. as i said earlier, i would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, you could fly in and drive away.

the price is very reasonable and i would consider offers. to duplicate this car would cost quite a bit more and i don't know if the electrical swaybar actuator option will be offered again.

i can not stress enough that this is a very enjoyable car to drive, has one of the nicest color schemes, and always gets attention. this car was engineered from the start to be used in a racing environment, the detail to safety and design can not be overstated.

here is a link to different views of the chassis with rockar arm suspension front and pull rod rear which are similiar to this car.

the following excerpts taken from cobra lads website about a similiar jbl...

"We gave this car the Best Engineering Award at this years Run & Gun as it the most advanced chassis that we have ever seen. From a design standpoint, it stands above anything here. And it's track performance proved that we were correct in giving this award. This car is Awesome!"
Kit Car Illustrated, 1995 Run and Gun

Robert Evan's comment talks about Chuck Miller's JBL as being one of the consistantly fastest cobras at Willow Springs. Chuck's JBL uses a bone stock ford 351 crate, rated at 385HP.

There have been some modifications. The front pulley system is now a Jones Racing system, the alternator is 1 wire and smaller, the overflow system has been cleaned up and uses different setup. Also the Ipod player has been removed.
